looking to purchase m coupe

Hi, Im new to the world of BMW's. Right now I drive a 1999 honda prelude so Im happily getting rid of that. I just had a couple questions as to what I should be looking for. Any info on the differences between the 99-00 and the 01-02 besides the motor itself would be very helpful, as well as what companies make the highest quality parts for the m coupe.

The only major difference between the 01-02 and pre 01 is the engine.

There are many really good aftermarket companies for Bmw's. None of them just do M coupe's.

So anyone from www.bimmerworld.com to www.ground-control.com would all be good places to start. www.turnermotorsports.com is another good one.

The most important factor in aftermarket parts is who you goto install your stuff. Jo Blow down the street won't cut it and will end up ****ing shit up. Make sure you have a good BMW shop do work on your car. That could make such a big difference in how much or how little you enjoy your car.

When did the 6 speed tranny get introduced? Was that in 01 with the new motor??

Also, i believe that even the s54 m coupes still have a 5 speed tranny

there was never a 6 speed in the m coupe.

99 5 speed with 19 Hamann's ..Just trying to dump it, We are # 19 on the new Audi RS6 list through Champion and gotta dump a car or so.

just get the M Roadster, it looks A LOT better and it lighter too. the M Coupe kind of looks like a coffin from behind

BMW M Roadster : 3086 lbs

BMW M Coupe : 3031 lbs

How is the roadster lighter then the coupe?

Plus the coupe handles much better then the roadster, since it has a roof....
