| Okay I'm interested in purchasing this Kit: Z3 RoadsterVeilside Body Kit But before I do I have a few questions that I was hoping some of you guys could probably help me out with. Questions: 1. I've had a quote from carmate.com.au @ $1,500. What are your opinions (a) of that price and (b) of Carmate? 2. Do any of you have suggestions 4 other places I should look @ purchasing the kit from? 3. Also, good & well priced installations + spray - anyone? 4. What are your opinions of the Kit itself? Thanks in advance. |

| 1a) Too much for a carmate kit. You can find other kits for the same price if not cheaper. b) Carmate sucks. I've heard stories (but never had experience with them) about kits not fitting properly, poor customer service, refusing to refund/exchange faulty or wrong parts, etc... 2) Try Makspeed in Melbourne. they are an official Veilside distributor. I think their website is www.makspeed.com.au or something like that... Also, some Autobarn stores sell Veilside kits, so it may be worth asking around. Original Veilside kits are very expensive though. 3) Dunno. I'm in Melbourne. Some of the Sydney boys can answer this one for you... 4) (personal opinion)Last edited by Vinnie320 : 02-26-2003 at 02:40 AM. |

hmmm i guess im 50/50 with my opinion. Front bumper is way over done! Skirts look ok but a little big Rear wing looks cool WTF is that thing under the gills behind the front wheel arch, that looks just plain stupid. ;p Ive heard HEAPS of bad stories about Carmate, as a matter of fact ive never heard anything good about them! Good luck, hope you find what your after. BTW welcome to DTM. ![]() |

| From what ive heard about Carmate, i wouldnt bother, unless you can find someone else who will make the kit, or just buy an original....but im pretty sure veilside originals is real expensive!! Im not sure if they have it, but you could try a place like jetspeed or something.....they seem to do alot of veilside replicas, and i think the quality and fit would be much better than car mate!! ![]() BTW, welcome to DTM Daniel |

| Hello Mate, The official VS distributor isn't Allen at Makspeed (only sells COPY KITS and takes ages for them to get a real one in because they will make a mould out from the kit first before you get it)!!! The Sole VS distributor is Jason at Sendai Motorsport..... try him... he is a REALLY nice guy mate!!! Tell him that Richard the one with 350z refers him to you, he will surely look after you mate! Price on painting is cheap and the quality is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!! Phone number: (03) 94972022 cheers, richie |

| too bad Paris lives in Sydney... Umm, i have been to Carmate before, i have seen there stuff and installation aswell....from what i saw....not that great.... The Kits themselves are flimsy and weak, they do not fit well and will need adjusting.....this isnt just Carmate, most poeple have problems with fibreglass. Jetspeed dont do a great job either! Just take ur car in and have a look at it?! i know people have had bad experiences but doesnt mean that u will! Also, dont all Veilside front spolier look over done?? ![]()

| I like the Rx-7 veilside kit... S15 and S2k too... but surprisingly the e46 veilside kit is rather conservative!
