Z3 angel eyes: phase one complete. I finally wired up the angel eyes for the left side of my Z3. They light up whenever the corner lights are on, basically at all times. Unfortunately they didn't come out as bright as I was hoping, this pic was taken in a dark garage. In brighter light they don't look very good. I hope to experiment with the resistor values and also try some brighter LEDs if that doesn't work. Also, this picture is not very indicative of the actual color - it's more yellowish in reality. Let me know what you think, this mod is still under construction (I have to do the right side next weekend) stjobs

They do look a little crooked in the second picture, it's probably because of the angle of the picture - its above and to the right of where the headlights are aimed. If you look at it straight on they line up. I used silicone sealant to glue the rings to the headlight casings. BTW, there are no projectors for the Z3 These are just regular US-spec lights.stjobs

dude, im still having trouble opening the lights...ive tried hair dryer, and its not working, ive even cooked them at 300 F (against advice) and still not even close. maybe these are different from your Z's. because i broke the thin trim off that covers the glue area. and i cant thrust a box cutter knife anywhere to slit the glue to get inside. maybe most of the glue is inside the lamp. oh well. gonna keep working on it.

I don't know if you are still monitoring this post, but a Mike Chaves, whom I was referred to by Jeff at Hids 4 Less, has been working on a prototype that includes xenon projectors. It looks pretty sharp so far. Just email Mike at Mikechaves@mtc-lighting.com and ask to be put on his mailing list so you can be updated on his progress with the z3 angel eyes prototype. Check out the latest pictures as of last week here: http://www.hids4less.com/www/proj.htm
