| Z3 3.0 needs some love!!! Hey, I just got a 2001 Z3 3.0 and I want to start making her al that she can be. I was wondering what is good and what is not, im a past honda guy so im learning a whole new game now so any help would be great such as exhaust, suspension, body, everything. I plan to got urbo on it, so intake and all that arent necessary, i really want an exhaust right now but i cant find one. Is it possible toget a m coupe rear bumper and get custom dual exhaust like on the aa tuning m coupe, because now that i have seen that i cant control myself. Anyhting at all would be great. JJ

| Try www.eisenhaus.com, I got an exhaust there for my 1.9 and love it. They really make a nice sounding exhaust, deep-but not boomy like civics, all while keeping a bit of the german rasp without getting annoying.

| no, he's not missing a T, he misplaced a space. Go turbo from got urbo. :-) There's a guy with a 3.0L Z3 on bimmerforums running 11.72 @115 w/ 1.62 60's. 321whp, 298wtq, from a supercharged 3.0L Z3. :-) You don't need turbo to go crazy fast. :-) |

| Back on topic, about the M coupe rear bumper... it will be difficult to fit a dual exhaust like the M coupe has on to your Z3 3.0 coupe. This is because the M coupe doesn't have a spare tire (they are useless because of the staggered wheels anyway). Hence, that space is available for the second muffler. Your Z3 coupe has a spare tire well underneath the right side of the chassis. If you chopped that out you might be able to fit another muffler in... however it has not been done AFAIK. As far as mods are concerned, some good ones are: H&R springs with Bilstein shocks or, H&R or Bilstein coilovers Thicker swaybars (I believe Racing Dynamics makes a Z3 coupe fitment) Strut braces - not as important on the coupe, but still a nice upgrade. Strong-Strut (strongstrut.com) makes a good set of front and rear struts. Exhaust - Remus, Supersprint, and Borla are all great choices. Being in Tampa (on the Gulf), the Borla or Superspring might be the best choices, as they are all stainless steel, unlike the Remus which is partially alumized steel. It can rust - the Borla and Supersprint will not. For bodykits, AC Schnitzer makes a sporty yet tasteful kit. Veilside has an insanelt over-the-top, aggressive one for the roadster - I'm not sure if it's available for the coupe. AC Schnitzer, BBS, and Hamann are regarded as some of the top wheel manufacturers for BMW. Also, HREs are some of the best wheels money can buy - but you'll need a lot of money (nearly $5000?) to get a set. You live in Tampa? that's cool, I'm in Gainesville and my uncle lives up there. I visit fairly often, if there are any Z3 meets in that area it would be cool to attend. stjobs |

| The best exhaust I've seen on any car (and the worst too) has been custom bent for that car. Bolt-ons are limited in what can be done. I've seen V8 systems on small cars done with great imagination and effect: A V8 TR6 with dual 2 1/2 inch following the original single pipe - looked like a stocker till you leaned on the moter... A V8 Triumph GT6 with fender dumps and dual 3" under the car. The only limit is the skill of the bender/fabricator. Find a good one and use him. Gregg |
