hi i have z3 2.8 coupe i wont to add more hoers power to my engine, i need something good but not expensive i think to add knn air filter but some people says it's bad for the car i dont now i need some help plz

That is an excellent car for mods. There is so much you can do to that engine. I would probably start off with a Chip and Intake.

The Chip is the most important part, because our cars are really sensitive you can only put bolt-ons if the car knows they're there. If it isn't told your car will run like crap, (example. it will only go so fast, it will stall, it won't turn on.) Also the benefit to chips is that there are so many so you really have to look around. There are all different prices. Also there are different stages. *****NOW IMPORTANT NOTE just because you might be adding more mods later-do not buy a Chip for those mods NOW only buy what you have or the same CRAP AS THE EXAMPLES WILL HAPPEN......

I personally like Dinan just because they have different stages you can buy as your modifying. Also because of their warranty (Example if your ECU and Chip for some reason don’t like working with each other anymore its covered (Like me) wile some other companies leave you out in the dark.) Also if you ever decide to sell that car that chip lives it life with that car (basically Dinan takes your VIN number and attaches to that chip with it so you can take it off and put it back as many times as you need to and never ever have to pay again) Also that chip is only at a authorized BMW dealer (kinda gives you a little more value for you car later on.) Note if you do buy a Stage 1 chip from Dinan then later on you want to buy a Stage 2 you only pay the difference (example Stage 1 is $200 and Stage 2 is $350 you only pay $150 for Stage 2 because you already paid $200) -------Usually a stage 1 chip kills your governor and gives you at extra 5-15 hp that the factory cuts off form you. Sometimes depending on the chip the it includes mods like an exhaust and an intake. A stage 2 really depends on the company what type of mods it covers…..


Now the intake, the reason I said Dinan again is because you can pick one up on ebay for about $100-$150 and its carbon fiber (looks nice) any of the E36 - 3 serious will work for that car... Also AFE makes a good intake for a reasonable price if you want to buy it new. Please keep in mind there is no really need to pay and extreme about of money for an intake they all give you the same hp about 5-8hp they are just good to have. ( I personally do not like K&N because I just feel as if they have a wide range of car intakes. I don’t feel as if they study the effects on that car with their intake long enough. An example is that there are about 10 different companies that I know of that make intakes for a E46 M3 and it took them about 3-5 year to come up with an intake wile K&N was the first one to come out with it.)

Now an exhaust always sounds nice. I have a B+B everyone says it sounds really nice (on other cars it sounds extremely LOUD any 3 serious-M3-M5-) Don't spend your money on really BIG NAME, BIG $$$ exhaust systems (like Hamann, Hartage, AC) because those exhausts are made by smaller companies B+B, Active Autowerks, Super Sprint). Dinan Exhaust are always a medium sounding Exhaust (basically you can only hear it if you get on it) B+B, Super Sprint, Active AutoWerks, UUC you can hear all the time. Once again all exhaust give about the same Hp about 10-15hp

Now personally if you are looking for another inexpensive mod you can find on ebay is a Throttle body by Dinan (note a Intake, Exhaust, and another chip up-grade is needed)

Also a Pully kit is a good mod for little money (that is probably the best BANG for a BUCK) priced about $150 but you get like 8-10 hp to the WHEELS that’s big (UUC makes it and No chip is needed)

The reason why I talked so much about Dinan is because there Chips are really good and the other parts you can find on Ebay pretty cheap. They are the only company that BMW Promotes. They are not the best High performance Part for the money (if you were to buy them direct) but they are the most reliable part you can buy. There Exhausts are OK if you find one cheap enough. But look around Bavarian Auto Sport, UUC, BMP, Rouge Engineering, NA Motor Werks, Bimmer World, HMS Motor sport (all Z3 Stuff), Turner Motor Sport, these are a few companies that will help you in your search. Just keep in mind that the biggest one is Bavarian Auto Sport matches prices with anyone (you defiantly know you’re not going to get screwed with them.)

I personally think that Turner Motor Sport and UUC is probably the most knowledgeable, so if you have questions ask them or me because I pick their brain all the time.

Its funny that you said that Buddy. My best friend and I always talk about going to Dubai. We are always looking at pictures and it is so beautiful. Plus I'm studying to become a Architect so I am all about those buildings. Please if you need anything else please let me know and when my friend and I finish school we are going to Dubai. Hey Buddy I am doing the Angel Eye install right now. I just had a huge Blow Out with Um-nitza (they are the company that I went through). To make a long story short.....basically what had happen was that they sent me the Z3 Kit that works on Some Z3s, not all. Some Z3 take the bigger rings wile Mine takes the Smaller Rings. They didn't bother to tell me this when I ordered them nor post it on there web sit. So now they want to charge me an additional $140 to buy the other rings on top of the $150 I already paid for the first Kit. I asked them why can't we just switch our the rings because I can not use the rings they sent me anyways......That would make cents but they are a money hunger company that does not even care about the customers....I figured using what I though was a reputable company and paying top dollar, that I wouldn't have a Problem...... I guess NOT. That company has completely changed from the first time I used them....

So I am going to buy the rings off ebay because they are the right ones. An return the Angel Eye Kit back to Um-nitza. I have been taking Step By Step Pictures of how to Install them. So as soon as the install is done I will E-mail them to you along with that, I will give you the Name and price of the Kit I used off ebay.....


Please send me those pictures I would love to see them. I told my best friend about those pictures and he can't wait there......
