Help with Sub-Frame Cross Member

Hello, I just recently purchased a 1998 BMW M Roadster and discovered some issues. I have been getting many opinions but was hoping to educate myself more on the topic as I go to get everything repaired.

The car was in an accident, the rear passenger side wheel hit a curb (very hard impact). Is there any references to the rear of the roadster and/or pictures and descriptions of all the parts. People are calling it the sub-frame others are calling it the cross member ? Which is it or is it the same thing ?

Something that shows the components of the rear, including terminology would be great appreciated.

Thanks. Tough question but any chance that an accident that damaged/bent the rear sub-frame cross member (rear axle carrier) did not damage any other parts ?
