1999 M roadster

I was at a used car dealership the other day and happened to stumble across several M roadsters. The salesman there was insisten upon convincing me that the M roadsters have the same 3.2 litre 6 that the current M3 has, only it's de-tuned. Can this guy be right? What kind of engine do these cars have and how many horses?

What dealership in Ohio were you at? I live down in Cincinnati. And it is true. Any M Roadster from 2001-on have a roughly a 320bhp version of the M3 engine that is in the E46 M3. any M Roadster before that has the same Engine as the 96-99 E36 M3. So your salesman is quite correct.

This was a 1999 M Roadster, It has the 3.2L from the 1999 M3 E36 as far as I know...240bhp.
