| questions on z3 with inline 6?? so yeah me and my girlfriend are going to be moving to the states to work for her dad's buisness. Seeing as I was looking to buy a 91 nsx and the girlfriend wasn't too keen on paying over 25000$ for a 91 so we will be looking for a z3 with the inline 6 i think it's like a 2.3 litre if I'm not mistaken. now is there little hope for the little convertible. I want to be buying something fast but something tells me these aren't the quickest. and what body kit's are available. something suttle not something all flashy?? Figured this would be a nice place to start we might possibly be looking into getting an m coupe or an older boxter so let the info flow in on the z I'm reading every i can on all 3 cars I want to get. |

| Bodykit's that are clean can be had at www.bavauto.com . Also the 2.3L isn't going to blow your paints off, so why not look into maybe the 2.8L it has the potential off huge HP figures. There are supercharger and turbo kits available for the engine. |

| if I can find a 2.8 in our price range I most definintly will go with the bigger engine. what kind of numbers are we looking at with a supercharger and what kind of work has to be done to the internals to make it reliable?? |

| Here, check this out http://www.z3roadster.com/ you'll be able to compare different models and their respective horsepower. I have a '96 that originally came with the 1.9L 4cyl. I've swapped in the 3.2L ///M motor and have done a few mods along the way. It's a total sleeper and it's great to see the looks on peoples faces (in the rear view mirror of course) as you blow their doors off. Durability really isn't an issue for BMW motors. I work part time at a BMW shop and have seen engines in the 425K range that still run fine and continue to please their owners. If I had it to do all over again (and had the money), I would probably just get the ///M roadster 2001 and up. Although they had some problems with the S54, any issues should have been take care of by the previous owner and BMW. Why not just start with a car that has 315hp N/A?
__________________ On Horsepower: It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. ///M 3.2L and Tranny swap, Dinan cold air, custom 2 into 1 exhaust, S50 intake swap, fan delete, aluminum flywheel, M3 big brake kit (front), B&G sport springs with Bilstein sport shocks, custom chassis bracing, strut tower brace, 17x8 Mille Miglia at all four corners, custom gray top, rollhoops retofitted. More to come |

| yeah I'm thinking more and more this is what I'm going to do. I mean no wonder what it is a classy car I mean it is a BMW. Anyways 16 sounds doable. Anyways we're starting to work on getting our visas to go to the states. and then I start working and then i get my new car. |
