| Don't do it! It just won't fit well into our engine bays. I went through two years of issues trying to stop belts flying off at the same time as trying to keep the engine bay cool. At the time I removed it, there was still no clear solution. There's more space in the E36 engine bay, so they're quite popular in there. The main issue is that I tried to get the stage 2 boost out of it (aftercooler, 10lbs of boost) which required a thicker pulley to avoid slippage, which in turn created the clearance issues that plagued my car.
I got rid of the SC system in favour of an AA turbo, which has none of those problems and is much faster due to having 100lbs/ft more torque at 2-3k lower RPM. |
