| chip vs. ecu flash My friend just got a 98 m3 its in perfect condition with active autowerks exhuast, dinan intake, flashed ecu, ssr competition rims, and coilovers and adjustable dampers. I envy him, but anyways i was wondering if it would be better to get a dinan chip (im guessing it not as easy as plugging the chip in) or send my ecu off to have the ecu flashed for my 98 2.8 z3. Also wondering if there were any cheap springs for my car, all i want is a 1.5 to 2 inch drop cause im up as high as my friends dads 740li. |

| You can chip a 1996 or greater ECu, it just needs to have a socket soldered into it, or the chip hard soldered to the ECU. I like this route because when I make changes to my set up my tuner just sends me a new chip, no down time. If you want to revert to stock, this is not for you. JMC |
