| Just put a deposit on a X5 4.6!!! I am going to search through some threads, but any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Wheels: I am probably going to get the stock 20 in wheels in chrome but if anyone has seen some nice 22s I would like to see them. Color: I want the exterior Carbon Black to match my two M3s but Cutter, the dealership, said it is not possible. I know Porsche does custom requests, doesn't BMW? The interior I would like a beige interior but don't know if I can get it so I might go with the black interior with the little red squares on them. What does everyone recomend on the color schemes? Stereo: Has anyone seen a nice audio/video setup that I could get done in the Santa Barbara to Los Angeles area without spending more than $5k? I have seen some stealth systems that look bad ass. I am reluctant to go with the OEM video since aftermarket is usually higher quality. Exhaust: I heard the exhaust has a nice sound and I should stick with it. Anyone agree or disagree? Performance: I am thinking about the Dinan supercharger that is suppose to put out over 450 HP, but I want to wait and see if I am happy enough with the stock power. If there are any modifications that anyone has seen that looks outstanding PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Thanks! Iaian Last edited by e46m3x2 : 02-21-2003 at 08:12 PM. |

| Undecided It is set for a delivery date of end of april. So I am told I have until mid-march to decide. I am definitely going with Metallic Black exterior and haven't decided if I will get a beige interior or that awesome looking Black with Red squares on it. Does anyone know if BMW would paint it Carbon Black for me? The dealership (Cutter) says no. -Iaian Quote:

| Supercharger Thanks for the tip, that's what the salesman said, I think it is logical. -Iaian Quote:

| It is nice that you can turn down the car when you get it, not like it would be tough for them to sell it to someone else tho. But the point is I am spending probably $80k on this thing by the time it is done with, I wouldn't care to spend a little extra money to have it painted carbon black. Quote:

| Call BMW of North America and talk to them. Just because your dealer says no, doesn't mean it cannot be done, it might just mean that they don't want to ask.

| Dude, you can get any BMW you want painted any currently offered BMW color for like $1200, from the factory. Its one of the very very few BMW Individual options available in the US, either your dealer doesn't know whats up, or they just don't wanna do it. For the longest time my parents were considering a Estoril Blue 330, my dealer had no problems at all. You definatly can get it carbon black. As for the rest of it, keep it stock for a while! Give it at least a month or 2 before you change things around, find what you do and don't like so you'll have some kind of baseline for mods in the future. |

| Thanks for the replies guys! But I am really upset after reading that they are totally changing the engines and giving the X5 a facelift in 2004 http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/front_i...news_index.php Does anyone know if this is true? -Iaian |
