Crashed Mommy's new X5 !!!!

So here it is, I live in canada and for this time of year the weather was pretty good. Although dealerships here aren't open on Sunday's our salesman took the liberty to meet us at the local dealership so we could pick my mom's 2002 X5 4.6 (lightly used).
She got a good price on it and everyone was happy... including myself. All is well until yesterday ! My license is suspended for three months due to street racing, and two stunting tickets so I don't drive at this point in time. Anyway I had a buddy over yesterday and he had to go home (complicated part) so I said that I would take him. There was a light snow fall in the moring and the roads were really Icey..... let's just say my inexperience with winter driving caught up with me when I slid head on into a parked van. To make it worse I paniced and left the accident scene. I drove the vehicle back to my house and parked it in the garage. My mom was still asleep so I called my dad at his office. After getting yelled at I called my friend who owns a bodyshop to see what I should do.... there fixing it. I went and talked to the people who own the vehicle at I was calm and my dad had returned home, so there not going to charge me with hit and run. The insurance is going to cover the damage on the other vehicle, but they don't know if there going to cover ours as I technically do not have a license right now. My mom hates me right now..... and I have to answer to two more charges.... I was starting a project for the summer but I might as well forget it as I probably will not be able to affford the $15,000.00 a year($CAN) that there asking. SHIT !!!!

Dude, some people are probably going to heave some harsh words your way for being stupid, but you are young, and it's better to get this type of thing out of the way when you are young and can rebound. Life goes on, no one was hurt, and cars get fixed. The best thing you can do is learn from it all.

I wish you luck. And I wish your parents luck as well, as there is a shot that insurance could cover the X5.

Although you probably realize it already....but driving without a licence...especially since your licence was suspended for street racing...is one of the dumbest things i've heard. I mean seriously..what the hell!?

But hey, on the bright side..I really hope your learned a lesson from this. Your young, life will go on, your parents will get over it (of course they'll always use it against you when they can). With insurence the way it is, you'll probably get stuck with a beater car when you get your licence back...but hey, life will go on and when you get out on your own you can always go get a nice car.

If your parents were cool I'd just tell the insurance company that your mom was driving the car so you wouldn't get ****ed, but I guess it's already too late. Good luck.

Thanks for the words guys, yah I've learned my lesson.... Insurance won't cover the X5, but the estimate is $4500.00(we won't be paying that much) from my friends shop. I won't street racing ever again and to anybody reading this post, I hope that you don't either... it's not worth the consequences. So far this year has been pretty shitty, I lost my 328ci when I lost my license and now this. hopefully next year will be better !!!

Time to grow up. If you can afford it tell your parents that you are going to take responsibilty and pay for all the damages. If you act like an adult in this situation than you will earn the respect of your parents.

You're a moron, people like you shouldn't have the privledge of driving. You lost your license for racing, and then you're driving mommy's new x5 how are you ever going to learn? I'm 18 and if I did that my parents would cancel my insurance and sell my m3. I hope you have to pay for everything and I really wish you would've got a hit and run ticket because I think you need some more consequnces sounds like you're getting off way too easy.

Everyone makes mistakes!! Do don't have to treat him like shit. Who care's what your parents would do. He said he " I've learned my lesson," "I won't street racing ever again and to anybody reading this post, I hope that you don't either... it's not worth the consequences." what more do you want??

Tarbaby,I hope you never forget there are other people you could hurt when you pull acts like that.

Wow. You did something really dumb. Hopefully you will learn, and never drive without a license EVER AGAIN. there is nothing worse, save driving drunk...

My question - the X5 is 4WD... how did you manage to lose control on a lightly snowed surface?

I can understand why your mom was mad. Probably for 2 reasons:
1) is that I assume you took the X5 when she was sleeping, because if she was awake she probably wouldn't let you have taken it with your suspended license (but i dont know your mom). 2) Leavin the scene of the accident...although you did own up to that and go back

She probably is very pist because you betrayed her trust

On another note though, WHY DO ALL U GUYS RIP ON THE KID. Everytime we have a situation like this, the first couple posts are always ripping the guy apart. I don't think his objective by posting was for people to rip on him, he knows he ****ed up.... He already feels like shit and he came here cause were a community and he was lookin for a place to vent how bad he's feelin. Tart, you learn from your mistakes. I'm sure the situation could have been avoided, we all don't know the details of what hpnd in regards to why you had to take ur friend back to his house. Its part of life and growing up. More important than the money is building the trust back with your mother that you lost by doing this.

God, the kid comes on here to rant and you people make him feel horrible about it.

People make mistakes, and I'm sure not all of you are stellar drivers in your own right anyway.

Good luck with this situation, the damage doesn't sound that bad, especially since you'd be getting a good deal on the work.
