Modding an X5 3.0 Question

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to find hp mod info for my buddy that has an X5 3.0.(Yeah, i know...he should 'a sprung for the 4.6!!!).

I also heard that the X5 3.0 motor is a version of the BMW 3 series motor, Is that true? If so, is the E36 or the E46?

I own a 3rd gen RXY myself and there are a few pretty comprehensive sites that have all the info on modding my car, like these:

the 3.0 X5 is the same engine as the 330i/xi/ci - a 3.0L 225hp i-6 as for websites - try unofficialbmw.com, or post questions here - as people here know far more than most
