| Yep, silver with VIC plates. Was first for sale at Rick Damelians for $750,000 about 8 months ago, then Mosman Automobiles for POA, then back to Ricks, then disappeared, then to BMW Sydney, then disappeared and now at Lambo Sydney. Heard that they have shocking problems with their fuel tanks and also the brakes. Still a nice looking car though...but apparently turbo lag like nothing else. Now all I have to see is a McLaren F1 and I will be a happy chappy!! :-) |

I think Elton's was dark blue from memory. I though there was only one XJ220 in the country (Lindsay Fox's car) and since his was also VIC, I was wondering if.....anyone check out his museum for me??? If I had the cash, it would be a car to contemplate at $350,000 Then again, a nice 996TT could be had too...or an SL55 (except their air suspension keeps collapsing, auto down on the windows (ie....they go down by themselves), leaking roofs....... ![]() |

| Love the collection Q. I almost bought a 2.5 boxster and for my tastes a nice 993 or 996 are the perfect step up from a BM. Can I ask if the 356s are genuine? For 350k would never consider the jag but would love a second hand 996 and a base model SL (a 320 if they ever import it).

| mantronic 2.5s are a good thing- as long as you get a 98 onwards. I ran our old 99 2.5 @ willowbank 15.1@91mph - standard. the 356 coupe is genuine. the 356 speedster has a fiberglass shell, most of the rest of it is genuine. we had a 97 SL500. never again. Brilliant car, but I lost $80 000 in 2 years ![]() |

| I was reading that Ferdinand Porsche started from a beetle chassis when he made the 356 - it made me think that a replica speedster can be pretty darn close enough to the real thing if not better. Makes me want to buy one. Love to know what Alex is doing to his boxster - when I spoke to him last he said it was going to be a twin turbo with black candy apple/crushed glass paint. I saw a nice boxster in one of the fast four type mags I think - big wing that looked nice and a 996 engine and badging. seen this baby?

| Ferdinand started with the beetle chassis design- and worked from there. The 356's were actually on a shorter wheelbase than the VW, the front suspension was slightly different. The engines were different. Gearboxes were different, although they used the same housing. All very similar, but evolved for the intended sporting nature of the 356 My 356 coupe absolutely cains through corners ![]() Its also very unfussed sitting on 120kph down the highway. Stupidly practical for a 47yo car TT Boxster. My dream also. The reality of $$$'s hit though ![]() A few people have mentioned the FF&R Boxster, have not seen the it yet. Nice body kit ! |

| wow Q, you have a really nice collection there! ![]() but where are the bmw's?? ![]() o/t nico, like the new sig also.. where did you get that boot spoiler??? ![]()
