| Lam, Thats a shame man. The question i keep asking myself is "Why"? Man thats crazy! I still remember our MSN convo, about raising our cars. I dont think i could bear it! I managed to get an accurate measurment of the clearance from the ground of the lowest point of my car. 45mm! mad!!!! LOL Drew |

| why.... ill tell you why... after 3 yrs of avoiding small pebbles, potholes, driveways, petrol stations, shopping centre carparks, bridges, roads and now with the crack down on lowered cars... i think it just got to me and i clicked... it has been a real pain to drive, altho it looked awsome, im looking for some practicality back.. and drive and appreciate the designs of these german cars... next time i do such a sinful thing to a car, ill do it properly.. with 20's but for now.. im starting to enjoy the ride much more... but the loks is something i will get used to again.. but i swear.. it seems higher then before, a good 2 to 3 inches above the tyre... its just a big change.. it used to be 2.5 inches below the tyre wen lowered, the side-skirt was 7cm from the ground, exhuast was 40mm from the ground, now i think its about 20cm possibly more.. i can fit a family under there. i can put a 2 lt coke bottle standing under there, i remember crushing already crushed coke cans!!! oh well... theres no more pimpness in me. maybe im getting older and wiser... i dunno... NO-ONE LAUGH AT ME ON SUNDAY! OR ILL DRIVE ALL OVER YAS! ![]() |

| I don't think the threat of you driving over us will stop us from laughing, I don't think we will have to duck our heads to clear the underneath of your car as you pass over!!! Just think though Lam, soon you will have a 318is.....

| Now Now guys... Give Lam a fair go now... He is back in the game, the stockie height group Welcome back Lam...Drew, when you look at the damage that your car will have in the next month or two from being that low, you'll regret it. I've seen sparks flying from your car on numerous occasions now and have seen how the car scrubs and bottoms out on practically everything on the road. Its not healthy for the car, it certainly won't thank you for it... I guess thats one of the main resons behind Lam's new mod ![]() Marc, it isn't that heigh, but then again, your car isn't that low... Hmm... Bob, driving over round-a-bouts isn't always the best thing to do if you know what I mean.... kinda unballances the car, especially at speeds, add height into the equasion and its like sea sickness but on the road ![]()

| Hey Lam, From a handling perspective, so you find now you are at stock height that it tram-lines less? I'm not lowered anywhere near as aggressively as you were, I'm about 1/2-1" lower than M3, and I find I get pretty bad tramlining, now matter how much I align it. (I'm on Sach sporting set BTW). PJ |

| First line should read: From a handling perspective, do you find now you are at stock height that it tram-lines less? tired. PJ |

| well... all i can say is.. i can drive normally,i went to westfields shopping today at parra and drove from the ground floor carpark to the top just to attack all of the speed humps... it was fun... then potholes and speed humps dont even seem there anymore... however.. it rolls heaps now.. on corners, it sways.. and i feel abit sick... when it was low.. it felt like it hugged the road, but hitting bumps made it slide... i guess if i ever drop it again... ill do it to moderation... |

| Ok. So do you think it didn't make much of a difference to the way it followed corrugations in the road. The reason I ask is that I'm wondering if I raise mine slightly, whether that will likely lessen its tendancy to track. PJ |

Are your tires old or new pjjoh1? or does it happen regardless of new or old tires? Last edited by RAiMA : 07-04-2002 at 01:40 PM. |

| It exhibits funny behaviour. When I align the car, it is good for about 2 days. When I put my new yokos on, it was absolutely great. 1 week later is was crap again - my guess is because when they were brand spanking new, they didn't have as much grip as after the week. I guess it could be a million things. PJ |

i would have thought instead of taking it back to the normal height i would have made it just not as low, cause i mean the way it was before looked awson, but dodging pebals and pot holes wouldn't be very good, but i thought you should have made it lowered but not as low, in Brisbane the legal height is so you can roll a coke can under your car from front to back, buit in melbourne i think you have to be able to stand a coke can up rite, and drive over it, (not squashing it of course) oh well should still look good, you think driving over speed bunps is fun, get a X5 and go bush bashing, then you will see what fun is...
