528i cdplayer/headunit?????? oki guys... i finally got my 5 series back from the mechanics, there were a few problems with it and alot of money but the car runs better then it ever did before... anyway does anybody on here who owns a 5 series atleast a 528i think the speakers are shit? i do, not enough bass and im wanting to put some subwoofers inn, BUT i dont want to change the look of the inside which means i dont want to get another new cd player/headunit, my question is does anybody on here know how to take the cd player/headunit out, because im worried, that if i do it i might scratch or break somethin, so are there any pointers or tips or something on how to take it out. thanks in advance eddy

hey peoples just a quick question, has anybody on here ever put a amp and sub in their 5 series before? reason why im asking is that i was doing some research on google and people have been saying that its completely diffrent then normal cars and that its harder to install, is this correct?

yeah the speakers in the e39's are complete rubbish...but if you replace the speakers (even if they are the same size) with a decent pair and stick and amp + a small sub in its not too bad. The front speakers are very easy to get to, but the rears require alot more effort as you need to take out the back seats.. jump on www.BMWTips.com they have all the info under the sun in terms of DIY's for our cars.. You can tap into all the wires required in the boot. Quite simple and doesnt take too long to do. (that depends on if you have DSP or not) hope that points you in a decent direction. Also one of the other places I look for information is Bimmerfest the e39ers in the US have basically done anything and everything and are quite helpful as long as you use the search button before hand ![]() Last edited by bren517 : 10-08-2009 at 09:17 PM.
