| Ok, I've only been a part of this cars life for the past few years so some of its youth is a little bit of a mystery to me... It started life as an 84 323i JPS 5sp Manual as best as I can tell - Aus delivered. The owner was a BMW dealer in sydney who imported all the driveline parts from a 325iX and converted them to suit a RHD application. At some stage the engine was changed to a 2.7 ETA then to what it has now. I have confirmed that it has a M20B25 - 168hp version (256K). It does however have all black cam cover and inake manfold with a Bavarian Motorsports Throttle body - who knows what lies beneath. Reports are it recently (in km's, not years) had the head etc rebuilt by Alpina Motorsports in Syd. I am currently trying to find more on what was done. Still not sure if it is an original JPS - it has the stripes and the recaro seats, but obviously the engine is not standard. As it stands now the body is in good nick, fibre glass front bar supplied but not fitted or painted. Discs and pads are new (again, in km's not time) and the car was serviced. It has been sitting around for a while since then but has a new battery. it starts and drives well (on a temp reg at the moment) but has a few elec issues. Indicators are not working, nor is the radio. Interior is good, sunroof works and keeps out the water. I also have another, slightly larger, rear spoiler in the boot. The exhaust has a small hole in the middle muffler - so it sounds a bit funny. That's all I can think of at the moment! Feel free to ask me questions and I'll answer them as best as I can! | Nah, I'm selling it because i have no time or money to organise it. It's been hanging around waiting for me to do something with it for the last few years - I've finally realised it's not happening! To many other cars to deal with and too busy at work. On very brief inspection it will need tyres (at least 2 - 2 are near new), the exhaust hole fixed and a couple of electrical things fixed - the indicators aren't working (could be as simple as a fuse, I haven't looked into it.) I now have more info on the engine and other mods etc. if you are interested shoot me an email and I'll send it all to you. the car has just been listed for sale on ebay and carsales.com.au so you can find it there too. | get the 325e if your willing to mod. Because its a 2.7L. Now change the head, cam, pistons, ecu and dash over to the 325i and it will FLY! however it wont iddle smooth. Apparently.... |
