| Difference between 325i and 328i is from memory 1kw. Though 328i had more torque. If I was you and sticking into N/A, I would do: - Exhaust System, cat back, something like Supersprint, theres about 3-5kw? there. $1500 - Cold air intake, BMC CDA, 6kw? $600 - Schrich Cams, 6kw? $2500 - Chip, 5-10kw? $1000 - Bored out TB, 5kw? $800 (gains (claim) and prices are taken at ramdom from various sources) Not much power for your money |

| All the stuff listed above is really the only way to go Getting a cam is the best way, but to make it work properly you need to get that engine breathing, headers, exhaust good intake. But if your after a mild cam even, you will need an aftermarket managment system to get every inch of power. What about S52 engine - if you have the cash that is. probably more hassle than forced induction, but cool as none the less Look the really if you do a plug n play chip, and make it breath like a demon for under 3.5k you'll get around 20kw I would say. I don't know what the general feelings are on the forum about Powerchips but they quoted 600 bucks to get a chip that you just plug in and off you go and you get a (claimed) 155kw from your 141kw standard engine. Run that with headers, exhaust and cold air and your on a winner. Just a thought What about a lower ratio diff?

| Ive got a 325 coupe and one of my best mates has a 328 coupe. Very similar cars cant tell difference really. Standard the 328 will just win though. I modified my car with chip, fan delete and intake. Now i pull away quite easily. My friend has same 325 as me but also put in m3 cams. This car is much faster again. If you want a fast car, just get a 325 and do: intake fan delete (does nothing bad after 3 of my friends have done for over a year) chip m3 cams cross pipe on exhaust you will be beating VZ SSZ UTES all day. Ive got mine for sale if your interested heres a link would need cams and cross pipe though. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/BMW/325i/details.aspx?__Ns=pCar_PrivateSpecialFlag_Int32|1| |pCar_ImageCount_Int32|1||pCar_LastModifiedDate_Da teTime|1&Make=BMW&__Nne=20&State=Victoria&R=121659 1&state_id=82&__N=4294967079+82+4294967060+834+285 +257&distance=25&__Dx=mode+matchany&trecs=7&Model= 325i&__sid=1148AFFDF530&__Ntk=CarAll&silo=1003&key words=coupe&Cr=6&__D=coupe&seot=0&__Ntt=coupe&__Nt x=mode+matchallpartial Last edited by DTM_325 : 08-21-2007 at 07:50 AM. | Good mod for M52 engines is to use the M50 intake manifold, gives a good 14kw gain on the dyno ![]() Reason for why the 325i is almost as fast as the 328i is because of the differential. 325i has a 3.15 diff whereas the 328i has a taller 2.93 diff which slows it down off the line. |

Ok where do i start. The M50 aka the 2.5L in the 325i goes good. You have obviously noticed that the 2.8L M52 has roughly the same bhp and torque as the 2.5L You have probably been wondering why. Let me sheed some light on this. German insurance policies and what not restricted the 328i. Thats why it is the same as the 325i. Now if u change things like the intake, intake manifold, exhaust ect ect you will get the true power of the 2.8L I have heard the idea of putting the m3 cams from the s50 onto the m50 2.5L and ive heard that it absolutly flies!!! I somehow dont think it would be cheap. Hope this helps you |
