This is a very solid and well cared for car. It's been loved (just ask my wife... she'll tell you).
I've driven several other coupes and this car still feels and looks like a new car. Modifications
and maintenance have all been performed with the utmost of care. I never intended to sell this
car. So I've treated and cared for it with that in mind.
The engine oil/temp has always been allowed to warm up to at least 180 degrees before reving
over 4000 RPM. Oil changed every 3,000 to 4,000 miles with Redline. Diff and Transmission
have fresh Redline fluids as well. ATE Super Blue used with regular bleeding... 4x a year.
The OEM head unit was replaced with a more powerful and modern Alpine CDA-9847 with XM and
iPod interface and amber lighting to match stock gauges. Rear roof speakers were upgraded to 5.25"
coaxial 2-way speakers (Alpine SPS=130A) using the stock mounting. However, the real music comes
from the growl of the S52 engine and the exhaust note.
Magnaflow 14815's are installed however the stock pipes are still available (install can be bolted on
in a driveway in less than an hour). Conforti Cold Air Intake with a new filter installed in March 2006
and the Conforti Shark Injector. Ireland Engineering sub-frame bushings have been installed to
minimize rear-end body flex.
Other mods include HMS front strut brace, Red UUC Transmission Mounts with Enforcers, UUC Evo3
short shift kit, Stainless steal break lines, Brand new (replaced 3/14/06) Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads,
Polyurethane Sway Bar Bushings (front and rear), New outer tie rods and power steering lines (replaced
2/10/06), Toyo T-1R front: 235/45/17 and rear: 255/40/17 (lots of tread left).
Interior mods include UUC RK4 shift knob (illuminated stock knob is available), UUC
Aluminum pedals (dead pedal has
///M Logo) and Tinted Windows with 30% black 3M film
(legal in NC and most states). The tinting job is so well done the inspection guy thought it
was a factory tint.
As for the cosmetic condition of the car, the paint is in very good condition (some of the typical
road rash on the hood). The interior leather and dash are in great shape. The floor mats have seen
better days but the carpet is in like new condition.
This is a GREAT find for anyone who's looking for a unique BMW that is fun to drive.
