| Anyone know of a reputable mechanic-Springfield Area? My sister just moved there to work for the state senate and it seems the stealer she went to is crooked...so any tips would be appreciated.      |

| If you are talking about Springfield, IL... go to Isringhausen Motors and talk to Clem Miles. He is not... and I repeat NOT... a stealer. They do very high quality work and will treat her like a queen.

| It's funny you say that because she went there and Clem charged her for a diagnostic fee yet didn't find anything. However, I wasn't there so I don't know the whole deal and can't make any judgements. Anyway, thanks for the tip. |

| what are the symptoms of the issue? Remember if she cannot tell you what the problem with the car is, then she cannot tell them what the issue is.

| The car is dying every few days or so and she bought a new battery. I asked the first place if they had used the multimeter to test the alternator and they said yes. It has to be some parasitic drain. I know in the E46 a lot of times the power seats have fuse switch problems that drain the battery. Usually though if the dealer can't find a problem with an OBD scan they would prefer not to do it. Last edited by #98 : 06-15-2005 at 07:47 PM. |

| Not true there. If you want to talk specifics, the Service Manager's Name is Dave Goone and his e-mail is service@isringhausen.com. He will get to the bottom of it, the car I mean. He will take care of you. Is your sister a BMWCCA Member? If she is, I might be able to help as well if he cannot help you to your satisfaction. PM me if things do not work out.
