yea this wasn't that cool of a day. i wish i would've registered cuz a lot of these guys couldn't drift for shit except a guy in a black miata and a white 240sx.

Good news for you, show up to the next one, its a competition too, I'd like to see you out there.

when is the next competition. My friends and I want to enter. and i shouldn't have been talkin about how people can drift because i'm still learning how to control it but havent had a chance to practice much except for a few roundabouts that are by my house. send me a PM or something on places that u drift at cuz my friends and i want to practice. and we want to come and compete in the next drift event. when is it? thanks

The next competition is June 25-26 Drift Day 4 and Drift Day Competition
June 25 is a regular drift day like what you saw, but with a little less drivers and professional instructors from Drift Association out in California.
June 26 is the competition with the instructors from the day before judging and a few demos throughout the two days.

We will be going back to the norway track a couple more times after the June competition, for now it will just be for regular days. We dont really have any money to throw a competition unless people didnt mind paying extra and we got some sponsors, but its early in the year.

There is also Formula D coming to Chicago on August 6th, but its on a long waitlist right now so chances of entering will be hard, that and you need a rollcage and nomex suits etc.

On other places we drift, its just about anywhere, I would rather not say where just because we attract enough attention as it is and more people = more cops and whatnot.

But just drive around and look for industrial lots, they are usually somewhat secluded and some have really big lots that you can mess around in.

Good news. My work is letting me take some of the used tires that people take off cars and they throw away. Theres a lotta the same size i have so going to pick em up next saturday with the ram. unlimited tires for drifting. now i need a set of rear wheels so i can drift. maybe 2 sets. whats the minimum tread that i need. 5/32 of an inch. please reply. thanks.

Well we arent going to stick a depth guage thing or anythign in you tires, but if its not showing belts and has a little bit of tread left you are fine.
