Back in '02 I had a 96 M3 Lux (cosmos black on black). Life was good and all that stuff, then my wife decided we'd buy a house. Those of you that were around then remember...

So, 5 or so years pass, we're buying a new house and have decent jobs. Wife approves another M3. Well, not really an M3. I told her I wanted an older BMW and she approved a certain amount to spend, which I plan to stretch a bit...

... the plan is to s_t_r_e_t_c_h it enough to buy another M.

It turns out that "older" means anything that isn't currently produced. So, I'm looking for a 97/98 silver 2 door with full obc and cruise. The rest of the stuff is negotiable but I want a car in good shape that I can keep for some time. The new house has a 2 stall garage and the BMW and Yamaha R6 will get to live in air conditioned and heated goodness.

I'm really looking for a car which is stock or lived it's life mostly stock; and by that I mean no forced induction or major track time (autox time should be noted but is not discouraged).

My plan is to buy in August/September once we're moved so please let me know if you are interested in selling or know of a car that meets these specs.

what M's have you been looking at

I've been looking 96-98 M3's. I haven't gotten any further than looking in the paper and on the internet because I don't want to find the right one and not have the new house yet. Once we get settled in the new house then I'll more actively pursue finding the right car. I did find a nice silver 98 for 12k but I'm not quite ready for it yet.
