Convince me. Move to Florida!

Fellow Enthusiasts:

I'm a DTM'er from the Seattle Area. Specifically McChord AFB, WA.

I've been offerred the chance to Swap Jobs with a fellow military member that is stationed on Patrick Air Force Base. To me this is a NO-Brainer to do the swap.. I would love to live in Florida. I just want a few additional reasons to do it.

I'm pretty active with a local E30 group that we formed here in the Puget Sound, and also the Local BMW chapter here. (BMW Puget Sound Region).

Send me your top 5 reasons I should pick up and Leave Washington State.. BMW related please... I know it "Always" rains here so don't use that...

I have to make a decision by Monday-Tuesday is I'm gonna pursue the Swap.

If it all works out... I'll be seeing / meeting you all in October...

I am going to be honest, the BMW scene isn't too big at all in the Central Florida area. So, if you are thinking about coming to the area with the focus on BMW's, you are probably coming to the wrong place.

If you want a nice base, relatively low cost of living, beautiful beaches, and year-round summers, then Patrick AFB is probably the place to go.

It only takes a few hardcore enthusiasts to get the scene rolling..

I guess I'd have to buy myself a Honduh to mix in better eh?..

Are there any E30 M3 enthusiasts in the Area of Patrick/Melbourne/Orlando here?.

The Euro scene here is just starting to take off. The tuning scene as a whole here is huge. There's meets all over the place every Saturday night. They're split up between bikes, domestics, Hondas/various ricers, VW/Audi/BMWs. And then of course theres the track, Orlando Speed World.

And of course, you've got one of the finest and most difficult racing tracks built within a couple hour drive: Sebring International Raceway.

Great Reasons... Looks like I might work the trade....

Mr. Renegade.. I've been following your progress on the E30 M3 for the past months.. on roadfly... etc... very interresting..

Sounds like there's a great support system there in Florida. If it all works out, I'll be happy... especially if I decide to get an additional M3 (E36) and blow it.. a la AA...

Keep sending more reasons...

Well, most people down here blend car clubs together, so it is not uncommon to see Hondas, VW and BMW together. We are laid back down here...we take anyone in that is nice.

I lived in SEA for 11 years

(Auburn/Tacoma)

since I moved to FL (in June 2000), there were nothing but good times!
Found way more connections for BMW, and tons of great people with a lot of help!

There is a lot of places to hang out, and have fun.

Plus, about cops in FL, it a lot nicer (SEA cops sucks)

Bit late but...

Seeing that you are a CCA member, there are a few chapters (I think 4 or 5) in Fla so there is great potential to get track time, socials, etc, just may require some travel.

well, ill be moving to florida in january for sure, i dont have a bimmer yet but as soon as i sell my camaro like the next dayafter its solf im going to take a road trip to go pick up an e30m3 so id love to be in the car scene in fla. im going to be going to school at stetson university so thats about 45 minutes from orlando.
