The shallower the ramp angle, the more dynamic lock you have. So going from a stock 45 degree so a 60 degree would lessen the amount of braking under decel (assuming static lock to be the same in all instances) and going to a 90 degree would allow only the preload to be the amount of lock under corner exit. In my opinion the 2 ramp choices are 30/90 or 30/70 and most guys are super happy with the 90 in the e36 applications.
The 3 clutches work well with the 30/90 ramps and the 30/70 as the 3 active surfaces allow for smooth locking. With 4 clutches I would modify the acceleration angle to 40 degrees and go on the 90 side still for decel. The more clutches the more effective the ramping is. I have tried a wide variety of angles myself on the track and have had other drivers do some also and give me feedback.
| Email from Dan. I'll be going with 30/90, not 30/60. |
