| Mmeh. Only reason I wouldnt go that route = if a cop is feeling like an asshole, he can REALLY **** you over. 1.) catches you street racing/driving recklessly (which you will undoubtedly do) 2.) asks you to pop your hood 3.) notices the mismatched engine -> car 4.) writes up 40 fix it tickets 5.) notes on each:: "Do not sign off. Must be inspected by ref" 6.) ... 7.) Profit! Your only recourse is to swap in the original motor... which is a pain in the ass.. Cop will continue to ride you whenever he spots you on the road. |

Not in North Carolina, they don't give us as hard a time as the westcoast guys. And what kind of cop would know that a nissan SR20DET motor does not belong in a 240SX, I highly doubt that whom ever pulls you over is going to say, "humm, that looks like an SR20, when I think you should have a ka24 in there" This is the same way you can swap around 911 motors with out a real issue AdrenalineRace, Great work, that is a very nice car and I can't wait to see the dyno results, the SR20 is one of my favorite motors can be set up in so many different ways. If I didn't have a thing for 944 Turbo's I would get a 240 to start a similar project with, and i'm still thinking fo getting one for a daily. Anyway, keep up the good work.

| unfortunately guys, its not my car, its the urbanimport car(my friend mikes). That car can HAUL too. Its running the stock JDM turbo with a boost control from 5-15psi(right now , it can go up to 21psi apparently) and at 15 that thing RIPS IT!!!. Its so incredible fast, i love it. We tried to race a ferrari 308 GTS (i think) on 15-501, and the guy wouldnt even look at us. Mike tried to actually take him from a light, and couldnt get any traction on high boost in first with 18x9 tires!!! The only complaints I have are...buddy club suspension is way to tight, mike might change it, it barely moves and is wayyy to uncomfortable, the exhaust is as loud as a TT supra thats down the road from me, basically REALLYYY loud, and the BOV can get annoying at times. Other than that its phat as hellll. I like watching the MAF sensor(the blue screen in the dash) because it shows the curves with the turbo and stuff, its cool. I will get some more pics soon, Im sure we will go on some photoshoots, we waited a little too long for this one. It just got done raining and the road was steaming as you can barely see in one of the pics, but it would have been phat as hell if we took them a little earlier because it was so much more obvious. More pics and a dyno graph to come!!Oh..Mike also cant get it registered, big problem, because the registration and vin say its a 98, OBDII, but the engine is OBDI... any help would be nice, hes thinking about getting a new vin number for a salvaged car, but thats not the best idea. Edit: Here are a few pics i took saturday. Thats the owner with the car ![]() 300zx calipers with brembo cross drilled slotted rotors.Last edited by AdrenalineRace : 04-28-2003 at 06:53 PM. |

| I owned 2 S13 180's in Japan first one was a CA18 second an SR20. There fun and easy to tune 320@TW amd 360@TW respectively.

| The cop post is hilarious.....seriously....i doubt most cops no the difference from one engine to the next......its certainly not illegal.....I have a 3.2 in my 325 and most of my local police dept. knows it.......Anyway, nice project boss.....or whoever did it.....looks real cool
