Bought the car with some mechanical work needed before it could be used, it needed a new Transmission, new suspension overhaul, new brakes, new starter motor, new radiator... And some other bits and pieces...

I'll be keeping the body fairly stock... My main aim is to keep it really clean looking, not overdone but have a decent power package and I need a Manual swap, no Turbo/Supercharger plans at all, no respraying in different colour, no hood vents, no 20" chromies, nothing chrome preferably, nothing try hard, just a cleaned up e36 325i with some decent power...

I think defo lower it. But change the rims also, bbs, hartge or something. Is the 2.9 really worth it? How much would you be getting with that settup? 250-260bhp at the crank?

The 2.9 Will definitely help with power, hopefully putting around 250 at the crank, With an LSD with a shorter ratio to give it a bit more acceleration...

The rims, I'm hoping to get a set of BBS RS 17" with stretched tyre fitment, nothing over the top though

I had to go have a look, it's 35w mate, still a work in progress, needs some attention to give it a nice look, gloss black roof and M3 kit to come

Change of plans for the motor, some people will dislike this one, throwing in an American motor *shudders* an LS1, reason being, they are extremely cheap, all the parts for them are cheap and easy to find, and they have a great base to build HP from, I wanna put around 400kw at the crank in about 2 years time, so middle of next year the project will be starting, it should be... Interesting

Please don't put that motor in man! Pushrod engines suck!!! They don't rev high, and just plain suck.

True that, I'm currently pushing just over 200hp at the crank, I feel it's a little pathetic, I know it can be worked on, but I need a better base to begin with, the LS1 has a great base to work with, as much as I hate the idea of putting in something designed by American engineers in my car, it's all about cost. I would rather throw in the e39 M5 V8, thing would be great, but it all comes down to Budget/Power ratio, for example, for $10,000, I can probably turbo/SC the M50 to around 300hp with cams, parts etc, or I could tune the LS1 for $10,000 to around 500hp It's a much cheaper option

Sorry, but it's a cheap alternative to modding the current engine, and it has a lot of potential... I always knew people wouldn't like the idea, but HP wise, it's a goldmine for it
