Whoa, whoa whoa...where did you get $122,600?!? The car's MSRP is nowhere close to that! Granted, I would rather not discuss the car's value in a public forum, however, I just wanted to intervene and let you know that the car is not that expensive. And...zcghost hit it on the head. It has unparalleled appointments and accommodations, a Q ship if there ever was one. And the 5 series just wasn't quite large enough. Otherwise, this would've been a post about a 2008 M5.

Ah, well that's the price that the car is listed at officially on BMW's website. I have never really seen a 7-series Li before or realized their price. It baffled me. It's about $40,000 more in MSRP than a 750i and was wondering what that extra cash gives you. I am by no means questioning your choice, just wondering what the car's attributes are and what it provides. From what I have gathered it is for those who desire a much larger vehicle than normal that can provide ample amounts of space, luxry, comfort and quality to the passengers as well as the front seat dwellers. It is beautiful and definitely looks like a worthy flagship.

I just checked...I know why you are confused. A 760Li is 122k. A 750Li's starting MSRP is 78.9k. BIG difference. A difference of 4 cylinders in the motor, for one...among MANY, many other things. 760Li is a great car, just rather unnecessary given the use this one will see.

Aaaaah now I see. So what does Li mean as opposed to i? There is no L designation for the 3-series is there?

the 750i is the standard wheelbase version, and the Li is the extended wheelbase. It gives a couple of extra inches in rear seat legroom...very significant space. The 750i isn't THAT much bigger than a E60...the Li, on the other hand, is significantly bigger. It's just like how there used to be 740is and 740iLs. And yes, there is no such thing as an elongated 3 series, or a 5 series for that matter.

looks good man, i like it a lot. you should definitely open up an underground transportation business, delivering goods and/or people in the ample trunk, or large backseating area, all while outrunning the cops, IMO. i think thats basically the idea behind the 7 series'... so get to it
