My 1990 Z1...(new guy here!)

Just joined and thought I'd show off my pRIDE & joy....

Not got too many photos of it - if it's out of the garage I'm usually too busy enjoying it to take photos!

Maybe when the weather is better I'll take some more??

Wish I had the sort of weather you guys in the US have - I'd be able to take it out a bit more then!

Nice Z1. I have heard they have absolutly brilliant handling, but are a little under powered. Regardless, that car looks hot...

Nice Ride!

Thanks Crusher!

Handling = superb

Power = Pretty quick for most situations, but I would certainly want a bit more power! I had a 2hr play with a Audi RS4 and he was surprised how well the Z1 did. A bit gutless at the low and top end, but make sure you keep it in the mid-band and there is plenty to keep it sweet!

I'll probably be 'speaking' to the E30 boys to get some suggestions for more power from the 2.5....possibly a 2.7 conversion to keep it similar to Alpina/Hartge/ACS etc...(not too fussed about going to the E36 M3 lump...would rather stick to engines 'of the era' if you catch my drift?)

Regards for now,

Bruce.

Im in love with the Z1 after seing a bunch here in the US for a BMW show at the Spartanburg show couple years back. I think the car has great lines and shows BMW design superiority over other brands in competition....of course.....that has been lost in recent models to come out.

Great car! def. the only one in DTM

This is a sight you very rarely see in the UK; 3 Z1's together!

Taken at the weekend (May 5th) in Brighton on the entrance to the old pier (before the pier burnt down!)

And this one taken at about 70mph on a country lane:

What a day, what a drive, what an opportunity to have 3x the fun!!

I'll post some more photos up of the day soon....

Regards,

Bruce.

I really don't have many shots of the car (as mentioned already - I'm usually too busy driving it), but here are some my friend took at the weekend while touring around Brighton.

Driving along Brighton seafront

At a country pub just outside Brighton:

Some pics he took on his phone:

Leaving the Ace Cafe in London heading to Brighton

A 'classic' shot through the cars....

I hope that is enough for now because I don't think I have any more!

Yeah - I'm finding that out! No one to share stories with. It's nice being the odd on out sometimes though!

Regards for now,

Nice Z1, love the wheels! As for making power out of a m20b25, id suggest a turbo setup. You can't get that much power out of a m20 without going F/I. Now that would be a fun car!

PS, are those authentic Alpina's, I only ask because the roundels and the lack of the cover locks... no shame in having replicas either
