All of the night pics are done with a tripod, as it is the only way to keep the camera steady enough to hold the exposure open without resulting in a blurred picture. Also, for every decent picture that I have posted, there were about 50 or 60 shots thrown out that were either overexposed, underexposed, or again too blurry or out of focus as the chosen settings (shutter speed, ISO, etc) were less than optimal. In all honesty my advice is to shoot as much as you can, as IMHO this is the best way to learn the camera and the best ways to use it for differing shots and light conditions.
