(Update)Which one: X5 or Range Rover ??????

It's obvious that most people would say take the X5, but read for a minute and then choose:
  • I'm only 17 years of age and really need a new car! (Have a hand-me-down Volvo 240DL sun peeled roof and all)
  • Have been saving up a long time looking for a truck or suv(Something Big), I have about 6-7 large.
  • Once my dad can start his business again or find another job They could give me up to 13 large to help.
  • Choices as of now- X5, (the following are all the new body style) Chevy Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, or Range Rover(If you guys have any suggestions that would be cool)

So what do you think, as a total of $20,000-22,000?

Remember Big!!

You are asking us to choose between:
a BMW or a Chevy/GMC
on a BMW biased forum.

EVERYBODY is going to answer X5, regardless of conditions.

btw, I'd choose the X5

Yea I'm currently looking around and nowhere do I see X5's being sold for anything NEAR $20-22k...In fact, the min price I've seen is like $10k higher than that on average.

To tell you the truth...I'm not a fan of domestic engineering...A lot of power...huge size...zero reliability...save sum more and get the X5!!!

My words of advice.

20-22 grand will not buy you the cars listed unless you want them to come with a handful of problems.

Take the 22 and buy something reasonable that will not cost that much on repairs... Get a SRT-4 or something...A brand new ride Why is it you need a "BIG" suv anyways?

X5 brakes and rotors resurfaced just for the front are a lil over 1200 bucks. CPO is the way to go :-P

Well, first of all, i just have to say.. SUVs are awful vehicles and you shouldn't buy one. They are unsafe, gas consuming hogs that have no business being on the road.

That being said... get the X5.

I don't know why I need a suv I like them a bit more. I'm just trying to find out some ideas for a new car.

if you found an x5 for 20 to 22g it would have a 100k miles
and then you start experiencing major electrical problems
................
the chevrolets and gmc's are simply the best suv and there bigger than the x5(tiny but nonethless still an suv)
i would see if you could get a 2000 model with low miles..and that would be right in your price range
............
the range rovers are a joke don't waste your time
my fingers would fall off if i started listing the problems with these trucks
