Should we start over from scratch?

A few members have suggested we start the forums over from scratch.

What does this mean exactly? It means that the forums will be completly overhauled and all the current information will become archived, the site itself will be completely changed in design.

We want to hear from the rest of the members and see what you think. Please vote in the poll and let us know your thoughts!

i say we start over from scratch. but i have a few questions, will we have the same name?, will it look the same. i think we should go for a new look. keep the name.

My vote is to start off from scratch, big news over at DTM is bound to get some people's attention which would obviously be good, plus I feel as though there are too many infrequent users and sub-forums which I think would be irradicated if the site were to be re-done, just my $0.02 though.

It will always be DTMPower. It can look the same, it can look different. We're toying with the idea of actually having different skins for the forum.

The benefits are many:

1. Remove unwanted elements from the forum.
2. Allow new members to help shape the site.
3. Reduce some of the clutter on the forum.

And any others some of you may come up with. Again, all of the current content will still be accessible within an archive so none of the information will be lost.

If that is the path we take, there will be provisions for such issues. And will someone please tell me what the whole obsession with post count is???? I would think your join date would be more important then some stupid post count.

I think it would be good to start from scratch. There are a lot of bennefits. I dont care about post count but I would like to keep my join date.

There's a lot of new members now, maybe it will get people to contribute more to the forum.

it seems fine to me. I don't see what starting over would change. people come, people go. that's life. I enjoy this site the way it is.

I dont give a shit about post count or join date. I just want this place to be "jumping". This will get rid of those who dont come on anymore. I just want my same name.
