does any one know were the vin numbers are on the e36 325is motor. i had it swapped a little while ago. but cant find the numbers for the motor. i wanna to do a carfax on it.

The Vin number is attached to the rear of the cylinder head. You can't see it until you pull it out. It's very hard to see since it's between the firewall and the cylinder head. It's also posted in numerous locations on different panels of the car. The trunk, dash, fenders, and door jams should have them as well.

thanks but it came out of a junk yard motor. so its no where else but there.
