I have a good instruction set for the E46. Will try to put one together for the E36, it is not rocket science though.

Are E38 headlights really all that much different? I would like to be in if they would work on my 740.

Next time you have time take a look at your headlight housings? If it looks like it can come apart and the size is right..i don't see why not
