Big Bucks on Big Race, 98 DInan M3 vs 03 350Z

some people at my school wanna set up a huge race against my 98 M3 against this kids '03 Nissan 350Z. and people are jsut digin to pour money on the 350. I'm wondering how a 98 M3 with DInan intake, and software and AA tuning exhaust (I know its not much, but im just a kid) against a new 2003 off the lot, completely stock. everyone says it wil smoke me ands its got leik 300hp and 300 foot pounds torque..but im jsut asking the pros here at DTM what they think...thanks-

christ, go to any public webpage and get basic performance specs on the car! 300hp and 300 lb ft stock, mmmhmmm. I'd stay away from this race until you get a bit more experience.

it has 287hp and ~273 foot pounds torque and the times for 0-60 anmd 1/4 are very close 350z (14.14s) M3 (14.21s) but i duno, anyone else got any info or tips?

they arent all that... you might race, but i wouldnt put money on it

If both driven correctly, I would think your car would win. It's so close though, driving will win the day.

It is all driver. They are so close in a race. I rode in my friends '99 M3 with ECIS/AA exhaust, and we pulled on a 350Z (also with a passenger) from about 70-90.


All the driver. Get him on a 15 roll, you'll probably run him, if you can shift.

Stock for stock they are pretty close. Your mods should give you a little bit of an edge though. So, if you drive well, you should be able to take him

How is racing from a roll 'all driver'? The only place driver comes into play is the launch. From a roll, it has nothing to do with driver, and all to do with car.

Practice some launches, then get him at the launch and hold him, you have a good chance to win this race if you play it right, plus the whole lots of money thing works, but yeah be careful if it isn't on a track.
