i would just buy yourself a new set of shinny aftermarket wheels and lower the suspension.
it would handle and look a lot better.

The orignal front ends is only worth keeping if you can fit or have fitted fog lights.
when you add wheels and lower the suspension its a neat looking ride, but i think fog lights make the car look sexxy

i think ur right, nice wheels and lowering the car and add the foglights, the car will look very simple and nice and u dont have to worry much if you hit your front bumper.

The fog lights finish the package for sure!
I have to update my sig now that i've fitted them.
Colour coding the factory gray bars is worth every penny and I think that the wider M3 moldings on the doors really define the car. They are my next addition to the exterior.
Luke.
Edit: Fogs are a pain if you don't have the wiring pre-installed. The German built E36 has all accessory wiring in the loom but the South African built ones you need to buy the retrofit kits for Foggies, Cruise Control and ABS. It is a terrifying experience to unscrew the top of the fuse box and dive into the mess of wires underneath.

when i fitted my foglights to my 1990 E30 318i, i had too also replace the switch on the dash from a single rear fog light switch to a double front and rear switch.
i don't know if you have to do the same in an E36

i have my switch prewired i think maybe someone stole the fogs in a previous life? hmm what about mirrors? mine had a erm hole in them...(stupid trucks) i might try for the colour coding to start off with... KW coilovers might be first though... adjustable 50-75mm...

i believe in most bmw models that did not come with fog lights optioned would have the wiring ready to go... it makes the process of adding them in pre-delivery alot easier.

G'day Dan!
I was talking to a couple of wreckers after I bought Aarons fogs and they said only the German Built E36 came with all the option wiring already in the loom...
The South African built cars had to have it fitted as part of a Retro-fit Kit from BMW. It was the same with Cruise Control and the Headlight washer kit.
