| Queensland Road Rules/Regulations Hey guys and girls, As most of us know Queensland is quite different from other states in a lot of areas regarding modification and road use laws. I thought it would be good to have a thread for Queenslanders to ask questions and make comments regarding road rules, modification rules, engineering etc. I can start by asking: Does anyone know what the bare minimum requirements are for a road registered/registerable car that has undergone a stripout for weight saving purposes?

| That's a good start, thanks for the info. Do you know what the regulations are for roadworthy seatbelts? Are harnesses legal? Also, does anyone know about legal bodywork materials, ie are carbon fibre panels allowed? I heard somewhere that they weren't due to fact they can be razor sharp if smahsed or broken. I'm not sure if there's any truth to that though.

| As for the seatbelts, they have to be firmly anchored in original factory positions or mounted to positions you have had inspected and signed off by Qtransport with the appropriate Modification plate (blue plate) on the car. If you use harnesses they must meet ADR and Not impeed entry or exit of the rearseat passengers. This can be worked around if you remove the rear seat and seat belts from the car and get it inspected and complianced for fewer passengers either 1 or 2 if you leave in the other front seat. You will need a blue plate stating that the car only carries 2 passengers. Sorry I don't know anything about the panels.

| so-long as the panels are rigid and all exposed edges have a radius of no less then 5MM and they don't let tires or wheels protrude you'll be right. For a complete list of legal mods in QLD please see: Light vehicle modifications |

| I'm pretty sure you can replace all the glass with that perspex-type (I'll look up what it is, seems pretty rare), but the windscreen can't be converted to plastic/resin. |

| oh and apparently they are changing all the special plate stuff around! which isnt very good for the racing fraternity.
