Went into qld transport today and got the vin/registration/compliance plate debacle sorted out on the jps so it is all good as far as registration goes. Ordered the plates 03 - JPS to go with it too. Driving around today though ive really noticed it needs more suspension work, front control arm bushes are shot, rear subframe bushes are shot, rear strut mounts are rattling, so ill put in an order tomorrow and pickup the parts for it.

Got to go down on my next day off (next monday) and pickup a new bonnet for the b6, so now i just need to roll it into the workshop and start the sanding (looking at buying a new compressor while i do that). If anyone is up here on a sunday, welcome to stop in and have a look at the car while its being dismantled, got 2 bays in use, just going to strip the parts, then walk across to the otherside and lay them down on the floor like a mirror image.

Hey J_Faulkner,

Good to see another Sunshine Coaster on the forums. I think you're the first I've come across. How are you going with your search?

hi,

Yeah think most people around here now are still jumping on the drift bandwagon and buying imports The searching is going pretty slow at the moment hey, unfortunately it seems to be pretty hard to find a nice clean e30 325 in the coupe, makes it even harder that i want one in black, silver or grey. Came across one that looked the goods but does'nt seem to be on the market anymore ah well

What part of the coast are you from, and whats your vehicle of choice?

Jamie.

You're definately right about the drift scene, too bad hardly anyone here can drive :P
I drove over Alex hill this afternoon on the way in to Mooloolaba and I was surprised at the number of utes that were out and about. Not the mini-truck, low-lux'ey type either.
I spend half my time down here in Mooloolaba and the other half in Noosa. How about yourself?

I can only imagine how hard it is to find a good E30 these days, I was looking for one when I was buying my first car back in '03. The only decent one I found was a John Player Special, but by the time I'd found it in the paper and shown the old man, it was gone. I rocked up to school 2 days later only to find that another dude in my grade had made the treck to the goldy to buy it! I know there are a few nice ones around, you'll find something.

PM me if you use MSN at all.

Brilliant. Just finished fixing my brothers 1200 so ive got the space back in the garage to get back to sanding the body. Finally found a colour from the range for the car, orient blue (thanks to atilla), it was originally painted black, but i have doubts about our ability to spray black, plus i dont think the body is that perfect that it would pull it off without annoying me. So yeah, the idea is to go with a colour that appears much darker in lower light conditions, but when bright, the sun brings out the pigments. Its too wet to take it back any further at the moment (or risk rust), not just the rain but its damp here, but when we get a couple of days dry, can start block sanding panels to find out where all the problems are. Im probably going to end up quitting my current job due to pay issues, so ill have some time off to just get stuck in to the car. Nearly died at the cost to rechrome some of the trim pieces and my front bumper, lets just say there wasnt much change from a grand (wallet hurts and needs recovery now).
