Talking 2nd Annual All E30 Picnic & Drive

2nd Annual All E30 Picnic & Drive (3 Series ‘84-‘91)
Sunday, June 22nd – 11 AM
Newcastle Beach Park, Bellevue

The E30 3 Series (’84-’91) was truly a versatile BMW. In it’s 8 year run in the USA, the car came with 6 different engines, 2-door/4-door and convertibles, rear and all wheel drive, and 9 different models! Not to mention the many variations available outside the USA. BMW sold boatloads of these cars, and hundreds of our local club members are still enjoying their fine attributes.

The local E30 Special Interest Group, BMW E30 Northwest, along with the BMW CCA PSR has organized the 2nd Annual All E30 Picnic & Drive for all E30 owners or admirers to attend on Sunday, June 22nd starting at 11 AM in Bellevue. We will have special E30s on display, and plenty of opportunities for all E30 owners to share questions and stories. We are planning on 75-100 E30s that day, be sure to be part of the fun! All E30s are invited, from garage queens to daily drivers (like mine!). We’ll have special awards for the highest mileage E30 and the E30 that travels the furthest distance for the Picnic. Let’s have a big E30 group hug!

Special E30s you won’t want to miss will include a turbo charged E30 with 400 HP, a Euro-spec 325is w/ M20 stroked to 2.7L, an M-Technic Cabrio, special tuner E30s, including an ‘85 Euro Hartge H23, a nearly Sport Evo M3, and hopefully a few E30 racecars. If you have questions about maintenance or performance upgrades, there are sure to be other owners who can answer your questions.

Newcastle Beach Park is a lovely setting for the whole family. It is right on Lake Washington in the south end of Bellevue, and features a covered picnic area, expansive grass areas, children’s play area, a sandy beach, a long deck out on the water, and nature trails. It is located just off I-405 at Exit #9. Just follow the signs towards the lake.

After last year’s picnic, participants wanted to do a drive somewhere. This year we have incorporated one into the E30 festivities. We will be concluding the picnic with a scenic drive up to Snoqualmie Falls. The procession of E30’s alone would be enough for me!

If you have spare parts lying around your garage, this is the perfect opportunity to bring them and have a giant E30 swap meet. You never know who will be interested in what you’ve got, or what you might find!

We will also have some special E30 T-shirts made up. On the front it will say “BMW M Team” and the back will have a full color picture of an E30 M3 DTM Racecar. They will be $15 each. Check out this website for all T-shirt pre-ordering info: http://www.richertnet.com/lance/e30bmw.pdf

Auburn Foreign Car is helping to sponsor the event. It is important for you to RSVP to me so I can better plan for lunch. I need to know the amount of people attending, and what kind of BMW you are bringing. A $5 donation to help cover lunch costs will also be appreciated. See you there!

Just because I can Chris, I want to correct you in the US the e30 had a 10 year run, not 8 and 13 available models, not 9

http://www.e30theproject.com/Models/models.htm

Yes, I'll be there, can't wait!

hello,
all you guys who are comming need to RSVP!!!! i need to know how much food to have.

Ted, what is this special E30 of yours - email me! you could be a featured car!!!!

PJS - sure you can stop by if you don't have an E30, but you don't get to park in the All E30 lot.

Jordan, i did not count the last 2 years for the cabrios, because i stated '84 to '91, and i didn't want to confuse anybody, or make them think i couldn't count. also, i only stated the models as it appears on the rear trunk badge. so i didn't include 'ic' as a model. and the M-Technic cabrio i'd call a 'special edition', not a new model. but it's all technicalities. smartass

oh, and according to your nice chart, are you sure the M42 318i started in 1990??????

-chris

I also am wondering if this counts as an RSVP. I'm pretty sure that my father will attend as well (he also has an E30) Thanks,
-Ted
