Fun in the snow!

Having a wonderful time these last few days! Fiance and I have 3 cars right now (pre-emptive lease-end purchase...) that are prepped for snow.

07 328Xi with stock Continental SSR all seasons has never been phased; BMW REALLY got this one right! Leased the car in NY thinking I would have to buy snow tires; never did. Made a 45 mile commute and 1/2 mile uphill gravel driveway EVERY time. After 35k hard miles it finally burned up a servo motor on saturday...

'89 325i with LSD and Michelin X-Ice snow tires amazed me and everyone we passed! Lots of traction, able to start on hills, and happy to dance when no one is around. Only thing that phased it was the occasional air dam snow plowing. We drove all over bellevue saturday night, drove to north bend and back sunday night, and drove to kent monday. People don't know what to think when they see it.

'90 535i with LSD and studded Dunlop Glacier somethings was ok in the snow but not impressed. Compared to the E30 it is way too heavy and has too much torque (possible?). Next year it will get the Michelins that are on the E30 with no studs...

Post your stories!

Zach's ZHP is fucking insane in the snow, he's got some Blizzaks on and they dominate.

I'm in Pullman, and we have an absolute **** ton of snow! I have some brand new Blizzaks on my 328, and I have not been stuck or unable to get somewhere this entire winter. It drives better in the snow than my AWD 4runner did. Needless to say, I am super-impressed with the ASC, and sure-footed-ness of my little bimmer. The Sentra is currently buried in about 4-5ft of snow with a defective alternator. As an added bonus, we have an impromptu winter rally circuit in Pullman that has been coined "the Schweitzerburgring" so I've been having fun the last few weeks!

Thank you.....Thank you.

I run Michellin Pilot Alpin tires. 235/45/17 all around. Very impressive traction on ice. The way they disperse the slush amazes me, no hydroplaning to be had. Though I still cary high speed cable chains just in case.

Greg - We will remember pulling the F250 out of ditch for ever. Lets get our asses up to the mountain. STOP BEING EMO.

Dude, it's not easy being the oldest person alive to be molested by a priest, just ask Greg...don't push him, he'll come around one day.

Mitchell - you moved into JBYC yet. By moved in, I mean, is there a fully stocked bar yet? I'm coming over soon.

A WINTER STORM WATCH is in effect for the Cascades and Olympics from Friday evening through Sunday evening. Forecasts are for potentially 2-3 feet of snow alone with the storm due in Friday evening through Sunday evening

Mountain monday?

Frusterated!! Most of the roads in Bellevue have returned to pavement but our apartment complex still hasn't spent the inconsequential money to rent a plow or bobcat or anything! 90% of the vehicles still can't move; I have fallen asleep and woken up to spinning tires for a week now!!

Britt and I spent 1:30 christmas day trying to rent any machine or buy a bunch of snow shovels to dig the place out and everything was closed... The 6-8 inches of snow we were driving on TOP of turned into slush/ice after it rained and now there are just super ruts and even the Xi is barely escaping the driveway. The best part? People just keep piling their garbage by the dumpsters that no one has been able to remove for a week! Disgusting...

I love the snow but I can't wait til I can afford to live where I want; namely a place where a.) I wont CARE that I can't drive around and b.) they know how to clear snow and treat roads.

Obviously it hasn't for you, since you cannot exit your Complex.

Oh don't get me wrong, it gets out alright, it's just a fight now. I actually have to hit the DTC button sometimes. Even Brittany has been coming and going with it and she has barely driven the car, let alone in the snow. The only thing they could improve would be to make it 6 inches taller. and then I'd hate it the rest of the year...
