| Awesome drive! If you didn't go you missed out... I have done this several other times and this was the best weather I can remember; could see everything! We had a few small setbacks that on another day with another group might have been deal breakers. A small love tap to a bumper right out of the southcenter parking lot caused a delay and enough disorientation for two drivers to get on the wrong highway... The road to Windy Ridge at Mt St Helens was closed due to a slide (dirt or snow?) across the road so we weren't able to drive the best part. Lastly, the newest car in the group broke a drive belt and roadside assistance couldn't help us. Thats right, after sitting at the Randle gas station for at least 2.5hrs on the phone with BMW assist they told us to call back in the morning because none of the tow companies knew where we were.... We took a chance and drove the car back to Bellevue (it made it just fine). Door to door I showed 380 miles and 21.7mpg (averaged with last weeks commute). We had 6 cars and 9 people: 335i, 328xi, 330Ci, 332ic, 318ti, and Audi A4. I think everyone had a blast, we all made it back, no tickets, and it was probably the safest DTM drive I've been on. Pictures will be developed eventually... didn't take a lot. I will be doing this at least once more this summer, when the last stretch of St Helens is open! Thanks to everyone who came!!! |
