| not much in the way of panel beating, am pretty competent with fibreglassing though, most of it is fibreglass work, then ill probably end up fitting it myself, with the help of a mate from within the industry :P |

| i see, i actually have been looking into fibreglassing recently... something i'd like to have a play with for no reason in particular... if that makes sense. I'm actually looking at learning a bit about fibreglassing so i can have a crack at doing some decorative (non structural) carbon fibre work for the interior.. would like to do away with the wood grain :-) Goodluck with the project though, look forward to hearing how it comes along.

| fibregalss is actually not that hard to work with... as for the carbon fibre stuff, its very similar to fibreglassing, but the problem is that carbon fibre has to be vacuum sealed for it to adhere correctly, maybe it would work alright on a flat surface without the vacuum, but thats what my mate told me (has vast experience with fibreglass and carbon)... i can give you a rundown on the basics of fibreglassing one day if you like... |

| that would be great. i have read about the vacuum bagging etc, thought i might get away with just laying it up for such small pieces... but that's without any practical testing or experience... so at the moment it just seems good in my head.

| depends on what it is that you are wanting to cover i guess... it wouldnt be so bad on flat panels, have looked at diy jobs on the net on diffusers etc and they look to have come up fine without vacuuming... but i would suggest you buy a spare of what you want to cover to play with if your wanting to experiment haha |

| Like to do the gear shift lever surround, little piece over the glovebox and i've got strips along the doors aswell.. Ideal would be to make fibreglass moulds of the parts and then got to town... as i said before its all very conceptual at the moment. Then i'll move onto the group 5 kit for the e21 ![]()
