Well I recently received a 1975 polaris tx440 with twin carbs, for free. Things so old it looks kinda like a boat with a box on top of it!
Now atm it doesnt "run" run as in idle and drive, but it does fire up but only if I pour some gas down the spark plug holes into cylinder, now its got spark and tons of air due to the fact that the air box is missing, and I just cleaned the carbs with a big bottle of honda carb cleaner and left them for a day to dry out, after witch I hooked em back up and still it doesnt fire up on-its-own, olny if the gas is put right into the cylinder, now me and a friend thought well maybe its the gas? so we took some strait from the gas tank and put it down the cylinders, still no difference, still wont run with out gas down the cylinders, so what else is left next to the fuel splitter? like is there anything else that could be wrong? and does anyone know anything that will help me as far as general knowledge as far as 70's polaris sleds go. anything as far as info helps, Ive tried doing research on these sleds and there isnt a whole lot around!
