hey...

i just released http://thecarspace.com to the public. we're currently testing, and just getting things situated. we have a new layout comming, this is our initial one.

im not trying to be a spammer, but i just wanted to let everyone know, my project is done. we need some useres so we can test and all that fancy stuff. i need you all to help me out.

its something i've worked really hard on for the whole "tuner" community.

anyway, sign up, tell a friend, put it in your sig, whatever.

It looks like a good idea, but the search function looks a little too basic. If you could search by make/model that would be very cool.

alright, well we've gotten like 3500 hits in less than 12 hours.... and i've gotten a ton of feedback already.

just letting everyone i'm going to drastically improve the site based on exactly what has been said...

long read, but worth it.

well, as a few of you may know, i've been working on a project for the past few weeks/months.

its a project i started with 2 friends of mine. although there is always advertising potential.. i've done this site for one reason. i want to be able to say... this is something i've created. i've made the place where car enthusiasts can go together, share intersts, talk about cars, find inspiration, etc. all those things.

i am well aware of car domain, and its success, but i feel it misses out on the networking aspect that made myspace so popular. i don't want thecarspace to be just an "online showoff" where you go.. look.... leave. i want people to be able to set up meets, find shows, and find clubs through it.

in the long run.. i would like to be able to work with larger communities to work together, intergrate aspects we both share, maing it easier for everyone to access forums, clubs, profiles... all the aspects the enthusiasts look for.

with that said... the site has been open for a little over 24 hours. in that time we've got nearly 200 useres. our impressions are huge, and i really feel we're doing awesome.

i've noticed a few familiar faces/rides popping up, and i want to say tanks to everyone that is helping out. it means alot.
helping out really just consists of you guys telling some friends, putting links in your sigs to your personal pages, and giving us feedback.

we've got some great ideas mailed to us from users, and really really feel we're a step ahead of the competition. between myself and the other programmer, we're CONSTANTLY adding features. we should quite posibly have a new layout up soon, and all the little cool things people are reccomending.

hey, i just want to say thanks again to you guys. you've been one of the most helpful groups.

its funny...

all the boy-racer sites post things like: spam! die fucker! go away! etc.
all the "more mature" audiences like various solstice, 350z, bmw, etc. are very welcoming with things like great idea, good luck, glad to help, looks great, change this or that, etc.

well, thanks to everyone for suggestions, we've added a ton of stuff, and now made it so that you don't have to log in to view profiles.

to let everyone know, including operators on this site- we are willing to work with you guys to set up any groups, forums, pages, etc.. pretty much if theres anything the community wants, or could benifit from, we're open to any suggestions.
