requesting credit help of the more mature group

ok well im 18 and i want to start building good credit now....i understand that no credit is as bad as bad credit. and simple things like dont want to pay off your car loan too early.. i havent had a car loan yet i just got my first credit card to start a capitol one platnium visa no enrollment fees just high percentage 19% if not paid off every month. i want to get the limit raised and percentage lowerd would it be best if i maxed it out at $200 and paid it off every month or paid it off in 2 or 3 months so they get interest. i want what ever is in best interest of my credit. to get better limits. and earn higher credit score

Pay off the entire balance every month. That will raise your credit rating the most.

Take out a loan at a local bank. Tell them you are just trying to build credit. Pay it back almost immediatly so you don't get charged interest.

see if you can get into a credit union of some type
They will get you a better credit card and aprove you for almost anything when you get signed up. Pay on time and you will be set.

I went the wrong route when I was younger but it's never too late. In America, credit is the most important thing

credit is a f-ed up thing. Somethings that no matter how on time you are with your payments it oesn't matter until you miss a payment! BS! Pay everything on time all the time. It's hard to do sometimes but you can get a checking account that will pay your bills for you. I have good credit and I'm 21. Started when I was 18, got a car loan for $6,500.00 paid it off half way through the loan. I buy something really nice with the Master or Visa then DON'T use it till it's down to almost zero again. Anyhow.... pay your stuff on time and it will work out. simple.

yeah i just got my first credit card a month ago. im being very good about it...not using it too much, making sure i have enough money to pay it off when the bill comes.

just pay it off...ALL OF IT...every month!

This is the best and easiest way for you to build your credit. Also you wont pay any interest. Just having a credit card that you dont even use, will help your credit.

Get some store credit cards for places you buy stuff like BEST BUY and pay them off in full every month for about a year. Then cancel the accounts.

That will help too.

ugh, credit is fircken annoying. i need to get myself a card too, to start building mine but i much prefer just using my debit card. i think i might just go get a loan from a credit union near me and pay it back so i dont have to bother with it every month.

get direct deposit on your checking account, that helps it out a bit

I pay over on my cars, and my house, pay off the C-cards every month, and have a Best-Buy card that I pay triple on every month (day after Thanksgiving was a HELLUVA sale ) My credit is pretty damn healthy these days

Buy a house in cash...or get a credit card and only put one charge a month on it like $20 most and pay it off a lil early and u should be gold if u stick to that for a year or so, and dont get screwed in college stay on top of your money, many distractions that will ruin your credit.

that would be no credit....and when you dont let any lenders get any interest on any of the loans it is as bad as having horrible credit. why would htey want to lend you a loan at a low percentage if you are going to pay it off in under a year anyway on a 5 year loan.... ive been reading alot of books but no one has coverd the credit card issue
