POST SPEED TRAP LOCATIONS FOR NASSAU/SUFFOLK COUNTY NY

1)LIE Exit 49 East
-Silver unmarked suburban on right shoulder with hazards on, spare tire out and everything....clocking with radio in hand and interceptors waiting right at the start of the exit lane
-Lot of unmarked Vics in general, they usually hang out near the marked interceptors that shoot radar from the gap in the center divider, those are East and West
-When you get far East on the LIE they hang out ont he entrance ramps and hit you from behind
-The pay phone rest stop areas are common places for a marked unit to hang out behind some bushes with unmarked Vics pretending to use the payphones but really ready to cash in on speeders

2)Northern State Parkway
-Before the merge with 347 they hang out behind the bridge and on the center divider hidden by the trees

-Late at night they hang out around turns in parking lots facing the road
I got nabbed heading East right before the entrance to Nicholls road about 2 years ago for 95 in a 55(Dismissed BTW)

Post any speed traps or police activity that catches your eye on your commute, I think that speedtraps.org site is great but I also think we should have our own DTMPower database...It benefits us all, thanks...

don't forget the 135 (Seaford Oyster Bay Expy),they run rampant on there. the last couple of nights i've seen abunch of state troopers on wantagh pkwy south of merrick rd towards the beach.

It's funny you posted this, because 2 weeks ago going north i got pulled over for doing 92mph on 55 and unsafe lane change. He also got me for tints, Anyone know any good lawyers for nassau.

Yeah. Lots of cops on 135. I take it when I leave school, and always go 65 in the middle lane.

I would also watch out for that stretch of road on Northern State Pkwy between Post Ave. and Meadowbrook Pkwy/Glen Cove Road. People always do 80 in the left lane, but my dad says that there are always police around that area.

Its always in Nassau that I see the cops at. And how come everytime I see the car thats pulled 80% of the time it seems to be a Nissan Maxima new or old. But in suffolk its not as bad except on rt. 25 at night. I got busted in some small town going 50 in a 30 coming from the nightclub Myst. There are some traps past around exit 68 but its never really that serious. Nassau cops are always looking for their quotas keep a lookout

you can't forget exit 50&51 to deer park ave. they sit right in the middle of that freaggin bucktooth gap and pull ppl over left and right.
