| FS: '91 VW Corrado G60 silenced Lysholm STGIV (Ft. Benning, GA) Only reason for selling this car is that I have been moved to Alaska for my duty station. I took a flight out and left the car there (didn't want to take a chance of destroying it in Alaska). I have only owned it for about 4 months, I purchased it from my friend in Washington. The only reason he sold it is because he went back home to Japan. Every modification was made by him or my other friend who is a local mechanic & VW enthusiast. The previous owner bought it about 2yrs ago, and rarely drove it. He bought it not knowing what was wrong (a lot) so he spent a lot of money and time getting it to the condition it is in now. Some of the modifications are: Lysholm kit from BBM (Bahn Brenner Motorsport - BBM G60 1.8L Supercharger Kit (Lysholm)) STGIV upgrade only running 10psi though, not 16psi (Bahn Brenner Motorsport - G60 Lysholm Stage IV Upgrade Kit) H&R ride-height adjustable coilovers (RPI Equipped! - USA Store) 17x7 matte black Team Dynamic Racing wheels (Team Dynamics Racing) 20mm spacers in rear (RPI Equipped! - USA Store) Bosal headers (Display Part Information) TT high-flow catyltic converter (Display Part Information) Techtonics Tuning 2.5" Stainless Exhaust System (Display Part Information) TT VR6 clutch-kit upgrade (Display Part Information) Adjustable cam gear & lightweight intermediate shaft pulley (Autotech Sport Tuning - Engine-Adjustable light weight Alumium Cam Gear) Upper front stressbar (Autotech Sport Tuning - Suspension- VW Club Sport Upper front Stressbar are contructed lightweight aluminm, autotech vw rear upper stressbar) Hella European-spec headlights (RPI Equipped! - USA Store) clear turn signals & foglights B3 Passat clear sunroof w/ interior sliding cover (VS the OEM body-colored one) Zimmerman cross-drilled vented front rotors 30% tinted windows Optima Red-Top battery MB Quart component speakers with Panasonic head unit Custom blue LEDs in instrument cluster/HVAC Clifford aftermarket alarm Many many other mods that aren't listed... there's a TON of money and work unto this car, and it needs to go to a good home. I wish I could keep it, but I don't think that's the best idea right now. Stock, it comes with: ABS, power door locks, power windows, cruise control (which has been deleted, due to the aftermarket supercharger), rear wiper, 5spd manual (which has recently been given Redline fluid), power sunroof, power mirrors, black leather with front heated seats, air conditioning (which has been completely deleted), etc. DJKerbal@hotmail.com is my email if you have any questions, or you can call me at (360) 649 8580. I'm in Washington for leave, but I have a friend that has my keys and access to the storage unit where my vehicle is currently at. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY! Please don't waste my friend's time if you are not serious. Pictures are here (ignore the scenic pictures, as these are all taken on my roadtrip from Seattle, WA to Ft Benning, GA in January): BimmerBalla14/CCC - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting ![]() Now for the bad. If you are not a Volkswagen enthusiast or mechanically inclined, I would not recommend buying this car. As it's functioning now, and had no problems on a 3,300mile road trip, that does not mean that it will never break. It is a Volkswagen...and a Corrado, at that. These cars are not that common, and mine is the 9,649 to roll off the assembly line. Not to scare you, but in the VW community, Corrados are commonly referred to as 'parts cars.' Earlier this month, the shift cable broke at the end connection, so it is currently stuck in 2nd. I've purchased a replacement, but it is here with me in Washington, it will be included in the purchase of the car (not more than a 3hr job tops). The car has been re-sprayed at one time, and the clear coat is peeling in spots. It's noticeable, but still looks good when she's washed up. The ride-height now is almost at the top, and can go a LOT lower. But with the offset of the wheels in the rear, and the 20mm spacers, it would rub if it went much lower. Take the spacers off, and lower it down, the wheels/tires tuck. THIS CAR IS SUPERCHARGED with a twin-screw roots-style blower. It has been silenced (re-locates the throttle-body to before the charger, instead of behind, so the high-pitch scream isn't as extreme). It is loud. It scares old people and small children, I won't lie. The silencer kit removes the ISV (Idle Stabalizer Valve), so the idle is some-what unstable at times, but does not drop down, just varries between 1,000-2,000 RPM. It does get annoying, but it's intermittent. Another common problem for the '91 G60 Corrados is the fuel gauge/temp gauge flaw. The temp gauge does not register (just use the oil temp off of the MFA to monitor engine temperature, 212* is normal opperating temp). The fuel gauge reads full when it's full, but reads lower than what is actually there. The way I did it, is when it got on red or 'E', I just re-fuelled, but only takes 7-8gal to top off when it's reading empty (it has a 15 or 18gal tank I think, so there is a 'buffer zone'). I have the schematics and repair procedures for the gauge cluster, I just have not had time, I will pass the instructions to the new owner. I am aware that the KBB is way under my price, but just take a look at the modifications and care given to this car and if you still aren't interested, don't bother me. The car has new rod and main bearings as of about 40k ago, it's current mileage is 174,xxx. Ever since the new bearings, it has had MOBIL 1 15w50 full synthetic oil every 3,000miles. It is due to for another oil change. It uses a bit of oil between oil changes due to the supercharger and the crank-case breather (perfectly normal), just check the oil level regularly (i.e. whenever getting gas). Again, any questions, contact me through e-mail or phone. DJKerbal@hotmail.com or 360 649 8580 Keep in mind that the modifications.... add them up, and that alone is well over $7,500. | I am willing to trade +/- $ for something quattro/syncro/awd. It's gotta be European or JDM tho. And I love wagons. Let me know what you got ![]() |
