| 1997 Volkswagen Jetta Vr6 1997 Volkswagen Jetta GLX Vr6. Just over 108k. Five speed with good clutch and brakes. Clean car was orginally a Texas car. Has non of the typical mark 3 rust. Has been in MN for three or four winters now.
Pros: Car comes with two sets of tires (not rims). I have a winter set of tires (bridgestone winterforce) 2 have 50% tread remaning and the other two have 85% remaining. The summer set of tires are Dunlop Super Sport 9000s. All four have about 60% tread remaining. Water pump and serpentine belt where replaced 25,000 miles ago. New plugs, battery, and the exhaust from the cat back was replaced. A coolant flush was also done at this time. I have put in a new ignition switch (common problem on these, they like to go out about every 100,000 miles). I have replaced the tranny fluid. I run a castrol gtx 10-30w in winter and a 10-40w in summer. Always have used wix oil filters. The car has also always been run on premium.
Now time for the bad: The car needs a new ac compressor. Yes, it is the compressor I have had it tested some of the valves in the ac compressor will click at times (only on idle). Car needs a passenger front window regulator. Window goes up and down but a platic piece broke in the cable assebly so sometimes it will get hung up. You could easily fix this problem without buying a new window regulator. Just need some creativity. The windshield has a small rock chip in it. The grill also has two small cracks in it. You barely notice it. I almost have to point them out to people for them to notice..
Black exterior (in good shape has a few door dings). Good clear coat. Black interior dash and grey leather seats. No they are not heated. Power sunroof, windows, locks.
Car drives nice and smooth down the road. Alignment is almost perfect. Has been a really relaible car for me. The only reason I am selling is because I need a truck for work now. So the car must go. I am asking 5,500obo. Pictures will come as soon as it is warm enough so I can wash it. The car has also been garaged all of its life. Perfect 1st car or car for a college student. I get about 22mpg in town and 28.0 on the highway at 80mph. I have been able to pull 30mpg at 55mph. Thats according to the computer.
Car is located near the twin cities, MN
