Rim Poll... powdercoating

I have a set of SSR comp's, in silver, currently installed on my nsx. Last weekend I met up with an elise owner, who had the centers of his SSR's powdercoated black, I thought they looked great, and am now considering something similar...

I thought that powdercoating a rim potentially compromised the strength. Having personally bent and cracked SSR competitions before, I would not want to weaken them any further.

I don't think it weakens them, but it will not show stress cracks. And that can be bad on a big wheel with little rubber. i vote black!

There was a problem with people powdercoating kosei's, due to their cast construction the re-heating involved in the process somehow weakend them... ssr's are forged, so I don't think that's an issue?

I doubt there is an issue, but I've also never seen anyone powdercoat SSR Comps before. I would assume the powdercoater is well versed on how the process affects the strength of the wheel.

I like the 5 spokes in your sig the best, but if it was out of the SSR's I would go black.

The black for sure looks great.
Gold looks a bit out of place and silver dosen't look as nice for some reason. Black suits the CF and other existing black roof etc. Nice choice.
