Oh, and I'm not familiar with the twin turbo setups, is the 24-25 psi each turbo separately, or is it the combined boost from both turbos? I would assume both turbos combined, since your turbos are relatively small, I would guess they can't hold more than 13 or 14 lbs each. I'm just basing that off the knowledge that a 16g turbo maxes out around 18 lbs, and that your turbos are smaller than a 16g.

Stock clutch.

The turbo q is hard to explain without me knowing that you got one thing about turbocharging in your head: Turbos do not create boost, they only flow air. Restriction to that airflow is called boost. Since I have more displacement (and therefore can flow more air through engine), comparing boost pressure will be a little different. Each turbo contributes to the total airflow, so in a way you can say that 24 psi is combined pressure, but if you measure the pressure at the outlet of one turbo you still get 24 psi, so therefore some people incorrectly assume that 1 turbo can support 24 psi. With 3L of displacement a single "big" 16G will be lucky to max 12-14 psi, while a pair will support over 30 psi, but each doesn't put out 15 psi with 30 being the combined output, they both produce 30 psi (technically neither produces any psi, they produce CFM, see 1st line). While a single 13T would produce something like 6-8 psi max on my motor.... my twins, even though they are small, produce enough CFM to create ~30 psi at 4K RPM, but only low 20's at 7K RPM (on my car at least). meanwhile they max something like 17 psi on a 2L scoobie. Meanwhile at same 17 psi I'm running probly 150 more HP than said subaru.

I'm sure theres an easy way to explain...I just can't do it through the internet very well. Just remember, turbos make CFM, restriction (from valves, pistons, exhaust wheel, ect) creates boost pressure.

Off topic but u seem knowledgeable so i wanna ask. I just bought a 03 wrx with 18000 miles and after looking the car over real well i noticed theres a ton of aftermarket shit on there, well its got a garrett turbo instead of the stock mitsu charger and i was wondering if theres any way to tell by looking on the gt to see which gt it is exactly? and also a question about my boost gauge, what do the numbers mean in psi since my gauge reads in .5 .1 .15? my boost needle goes well past .15 when im on the throttle. i need to buy a guage that reads in psi since im a newbie

I bet it reads in BAR or kg/cm. either way, 1 BAR equals 14.7 psi, 2 bar equals 29.4 psi. I already can tell you at least have larger fuel injectors and an aftermarket ECU or piggyback.

The numbers on a garrett turbo will tell you a little about the housings, but I'm going to guess its a garrett hybrid (standard housings with another model's wheels in it) if it's not an off hte shelf GT30R or GT35R turbo. Basically chances are you got an awsome deal on a nice car.

well according to convert-me.com .15 is 21psi and im boosting well over that so im guessing thats not very good for the engine unless the previous owner did some internal work to it. hes gotta have some kinda engine management on this damn thing, gonna have to find it and turn that shit down.

The boost controller is easy to find. If it is a manual one you just find the wastegate actuator (on the turbo) and follow the vacuum line until you hit the boost controller. If you find a solinoid you have an electronic boost controller, and the head unit is in the car somewhere.

Do you have a wideband A/F gauge/controller? If your A/F ratio is good and your not knocking at 21 psi (lucky you, thats race gas territory for me), then I'd keep the boost setting.

Niiiice. I used to have a Mitsu 3000 SL that I wished to be VR4. Glad to see a modded one. I wasn't finding too many around when I was into it. Fun car though, I can only imagine how fun the TT would be.

Nice stuff. Oh and the dyno pic.. MMM; that's sick. Call me crazy, but I always loved those spoilers too.

Oh and quick question for you, have you seen or had any experience with the headlights yellowing? The 3000GT I just was talking about is the offwhite color and the headlights have a serious problem with yellowing. Any fix? Priced out new headlights and the price is way too steep.

Any help appreciated. Figured you might know since I believe the stealth and 3000GT had mostly same parts right?

Edit - See these lights?

Ouch. They need to be fixed.. Sorry for the temporary hijack.

Lexan headlights do that alot. Polishing them with a polish/sanding kit for Lexan/acrylic might help alot. I use a kit named Micromesh on aircraft windshields for removing scratching, flaking, and yellowing. A buddy of mine just had his fixed (pearl white also), I'll ask him what he used.

That would be awesome! Thank you soo much. It's really buggin me and I cant even find decent priced replacements, so I really need some way to fix these.

Thanks again, you can PM with whatever you come up with so we dont keep this offtopic going. I dont want to hijack the thread.

Decided to finally install the front bumper again...lights are still being modified.

I didn't paint tbe intercooler black, decided it was hidden enough as it is. I still might do it...

Paint looks horrible..
