It's ridiculously complex and it ain't as though the same output couldn't be achieved with a twin turbo V12 (two Barra 240T's strapped together I reckon), ..it's 8 friggin litres to work with ferchrissake.
The thing is only pushing out about 125hp/L after all, not that big of an ask for a modern turbo motor.

All I see is a shite load of engineering for the sake of bragging, at the expense of practicality.(not as in the car should be practical, but as in the tech should be).

And a Maclaren isn't any less practical? Golden engine compartment, carbon fibre body, too much magnesium to note... to get beaten in top speed by this monster... it's a matter of where you route the absurdity, and I'm sorry, any system that was prone to melting engine blocks is pretty sexy in my eyes.

IMO I'd rather have a mclaren F1 than a bugatti anyday, like u guys mentioned, the bugatti was all about top speed and didnt really handle well threw turns and such, while the mclaren has a better power to weight ratio and everything else, what would u guys rather have ?

Oh, this engine did work, quite well in fact (once they got it to stop having meltdowns ). The steering and brakes were the last things designed. On an episode of Top Gear from a while back, Bugatti said they finally got the engine sorted and were pressing to ge tthe steering and brakes done so as not to be any later than they already were. It's no surprise that the car handles like the tank it is, but it's a tank that'll FLY.

the mclaren f1 has a centered driver seat/wheel....you dont get more mack daddy than that. ill take it over any car out to date.

lol i mean any car out to this date...as in august 2nd not to date date....the mclaren is beyond girl admiration and into guy only appreciation. Most ladies just wanna know your car is a 'ferarri' or 'porsche' or 'lamborgini'
